Precisely how I feel about cycling.

What do Lance Armstrong and Barry Bonds have in common...neither one tested positive. Want to stand up and say Barry Bonds never cheated?

I'll stand up and say that not only do I not care whether Bonds or anyone else juiced, I'm also not certain that their juicing made a material difference.

Did Bonds take anything that was banned by baseball? If not then he didn't "cheat".

Also, when was he tested? What was he tested for?

Sorry, just because a bunch of losers want to beleive the worst, does not make rumor and accusations true.

Provide proof, or STFU.

Why wouldn't i, Baloo? I'd love to know.

I'm not sure if I'm completely misinterpreting that line, but it sure seems like you're taking a shot at me for no reason at all.
You are completely misinterpreting that line. I'm saying why would you read a long Supreme Court decision if you didn't have to and it had no bearing on your life. You could read it if you're really curious, but, really... why?

Chill out. I'm just saying it's boring.

IF that's your feelings then why you all bent out of shape when he's called a lying weasel?

And fact: Lance Armstrong would not have won 7 tour de frenchies without doping.

The not caring part - that's a fair opinion to have, but to honestly believe it made no material difference is just stupid.

what the doping by cyclists (which I know nothing about) or steriods in baseball? Because in baseball all most offer is anecdotal evidence. There have been studies that show its inconclusive.

You and I tend to agree on most things, but this is just head-in-the-sand-stupid. Nobody likes Barry Bonds more than I do, but to suggest steroids didn't help him only because there hasn't been a definitive study to prove it is beyond naive.

I can come up with 15 different plausable explainations for his stats from 2001-2005, sorry but anecdotal evidence isn't proof. I'm not saying it didn't help him, just that I'm not sure it did.

I posted that neither tested positive because you seem to give Lance Armstrong a pass just because he never failed a test. It is widely accepted that Barry Bonds used steroids to the point of he was brought up on perjury charges. To sit there and say Lance Armstrong is clean and has always been clean because he never tested positive is beyond naive.

athletes keep taking them, risking the shame of a courtroom and the destruction of their legacies, spend alot of money to hide their use by buying the latest undetectable, untestable drugs because

they work

and they make a very big difference

If you think Bonds had it in him to belt 755+ homers without PEDs then I don't know what to tell you...I'm not entirely sure he would have hit 500...he didn't become a power hitter until the mid-late 90s when he started juicing. Through 10 years of his career...he hit 292 HRs only once surpassing the 40 mark...then, over the next 10, really 11 but he missed 95% of 2005, years of his career (it wouldn't have been that many if not for the steroids)he hits 470 HRs, in a part of his career hgis is supposed to be hitting less, he's not just keeping consistency, he is increasing his rate at an unheard of level during a part of his career his numbers are supposed to be tailing...

don't say they don't make a difference, they make all the difference and it's why athletes keep taking them

You're trying to hard to be skeptical and open minded.

by comparison, Ken Griffey Jr. hit a couple shy of 400 HRs his first 10 seasons, but then his numbers started declining steadily and injuries started to rack up...that tends to happen when you're not on PEDs.

there's no proof of that but here is some real proof that might explain what some of you think is impossible.

LINK

quote:

According to a scientist who studied Armstrong at regular intervals from 1992 to 1999, his prowess can be explained by a set of physiological changes that took place in his body over those seven years and that, in all probability, are continuing.

The changes are described in an article titled "Improved Muscular Efficiency Displayed as Tour de France Champion Matures" in the June issue of The Journal of Applied Physiology.
