I'll go with Dana Carvey or Eddie Murphy

Tim Meadows. Always thought he was awesome, and he was on the show forever.

Phil Hartman. Whenever I hear "SNL", I immediately think of him. He had a freakin wide range of characters he could do. I'll never forgive that bitch he called a wife. Imagine what he could have done. RIP

Phil Hartman and Gilda Radner.

Among performers with absolutely no ability to perform as a character, so they stuck him with the news desk, I'd go with Norm McDonald and Dennis Miller
Loved the range Phil Hartman showed. My sense for nostalgia says Belushi.
But I think my vote has to go to Will Ferrel. He swung for the fences on every sketch and even cracked me up with his commitment to terrible sketches.

Yes.
I'm going Ferrell
Ferrell playing the devil when Garth Brooks sold his soul for a hit song cracks my junk up.
But Christopher Walken deserves a mention. The only host to have a greatest hits DVD. It is pretty epic.
