Sorry fellas.

quote:

The New Orleans Saints are waiting until after the NFL's labor dispute clears up to start working on a new deal with tailback Reggie Bush. But Coach Sean Payton said he eventually expects the Saints and Bush to work something out.

quote:

I think there will be a number. We just have to find that number that both sides are comfortable with."

Bush seems to be willing to play ball with the Saints, which is a good sign. Oftentimes players' pride gets in the way when they're asked to take a paycut. But Bush seems to understand that his market value isn't the same as it was when he was the No. 2 overalld raft choice coming out of USC in 2006.
"I think he's got a pretty good grasp of the economy and where he's at," Payton said. "That's a big strength, especially when a player knows who he is and the type of team he's with. That's not a sure thing because, hey, there might be another suitor possibly, but I think he has a genuine desire to play here. I think the feeling is mutual."

If they didn't work out a deal and Bush went to another team... would that be your new favorite team?

Nope. Not even if he went to the Jets or Colts. I attended games at Tulane Stadium. Was also in the crowd when they shut out the SB Champ Dallas Cowboys 14-0. My full metal can of Snack Pack pudding was leveled like a pancake. camped out and was third in a line at a record store to get tickets for their first ever playoff game. Say what you want about Bush and me, but bandwaggoner, I am not.

Good. When healthy, Reggie is an important part of the offense, even if its mostly as a decoy.

i hope a deal gets worked out. reggie's a great saint. brees and he started this new, successfull saints era. when houston decided on mario williams....that was an exciting time for the saints. unexpected and exciting....regardless of what he accomplishes statistics wise, he has been a great saint and is a symbol of a great time for the franchise. Drafting Bush and the Brees signing were the beginning of a new, great era.

and ya. the dude can play.... he hasn't lived up to expectations. but if he restructures, and we can get just glimpses of the zona playoff game, then we're in good shape

I know it is a good thing for the Saints. You know it was a commentary to the others who want to get rid of Bush.

all defenses know where reggie is on the field, thats why he's so valuable. regardless, he's not worth more than drew brees with this year's cap. i'll be estatic once we restructure him.

We've seen him play to his potential a few times, and it's phenomenal. Why he doesn't bring the wood every time he's on the field is beyond me.

Someone get K-Dash back in NOLA.

I am all for keeping RB at the right price. He should get maybe a little more than PT (maybe).

Only because of the money he was making. If we can renegotiate a new deal with him I'll be happy to have him.
