For those who attended LSU, how was the sports scene when you were there?

I was at LSU from the fall of 1990 to the summer of 1994. LSU didn't have a winning record in each of the four seasons I was there..total bummer. However, the baseball team won two national championships (91 and 93), the basketball team had Shaq for two of the years I was there (91 and 92), plus a competitive team in the season after Shaq left.

And the Saints went to the playoffs in 90, 91 and 92.

While it was disappointing that the football team blew during my time at LSU, the success of the other teams more than made up for it.

How were the teams during your time at LSU?

We had a Final Four during your time unless you graduated early.

<--- Fall 86 - Spring 91

Football solid first two years then faded quickly. Basketball was CJ and Shaq days, enough said. Noone cared about baseball much.

Started in 86...Friends with Harvey & Darrell Williams, Henry "Too Tuff" Thomas, Slip Watkins, Karl Dunbar, Hodson, etc... Yep, those were the good ole days. Football was good, Final Four with Blanton and the boys. Shack followed and we dated the same girl... Thought I would have needed a 2 x 4, not the case

Fall of 98 through Spring 2003. Saw LSU go from laughing stock of the SEC to SEC Champions.

LSU won the 2000 national championship in baseball. Lost to Tulane in 2001.

Basketball had a good year in 2000.

I was there pretty much as the same time as you Chicken. Basketball was fun along with Baseball but I was just used to the football team getting hammered. However, paying for student tix and having a great time helped with the shitty team

Was at LSU from 83 to 88. Was a good time for LSU athletics in general. Bob BroDhead was the AD and we were doing well in many sports. Finished second one year in the nation in what's now called the Director's cup. Don't know if it was called that back then though. Broadhead hired a lot of good coaches! He and his wife were good people to be around. Don't know that LSU has been all around better than when he was the AD.
