The Wire is too good to wait for blu ray. HD won't make it any greater than it already is. Can't get much better than 10/10

Disagree strongly. Some things truly are not meant to look sharp and pretty. Sometimes the gritty look of a show or movie helps with the aesthetics.

My favorite scene in the entire series is when Omar robs the convenient store where they are holding the re-up and then buys a box of newports and asking for his change seconds after robbing the guy

and everytime Sen. Davis says "SSSSShhhhhhiiiiitttttttttttt"

About to start season 2, I know it's not as good as 3 and 4 but I can't see how it will be bad.

It's not bad, it's great. Many people have S2 as their favorite. It's "different" from the rest so that's what turns some people off.

But 3 and 4 are the best imo.

Once you're done with all five seasons, take a break and then rewatch it. You'll pick up on a lot of stuff that you missed and more questions will be answered.
