Doesn't Ole Miss consider MSU its biggest rival?

I don't and neither do a lot of people.
Here's an interesting poll that SI did last year with all the SEC schools.

Almost 75% of Ole Miss fans said LSU was our biggest rival. 24.5% said Mississippi State.
However, 95.7% of State fans said OM was their biggest rival.

Why are you on this board trying to convince LSU fans you are our biggest rival? If a team is your biggest rival you don't have to tell them that, they know it, and clearly the majority of LSU fans no longer regard Ole Miss as our biggest rival. Ole Miss = Tulane in the 1970's. They had everything to gain and nothing to lose. LSU has become the team you have to beat to make your season. The opposite is not true for LSU. Go away!

Hey Toddy Bear: LSU finds it kinda hard to "respect" Ole Miss for caving into a vocal minority and killing off your long-time mascot COL Reb in favor of politically correct smokey the hootie bear as a mascot. Aren't you afraid the NAACP is going to censure you for your COL Reb icon next to your SN?

Also kinda hard to respect Ole Miss for bailing Masoli out of an Oregon jail, fabricating some fictitious "change of degree not offered" so he could transfer without sitting out a year then watching him throw more completions to players wearing Pig Red, Vol Orange, etc. (Yeah, LSU has QB issues but we're also 9-1...remind us, what is Ole Miss thisw season?)

Geaux to hell brown bears. You are as much a "rival" to LSU as ULM, ULL and Tulane. Don't flatter yourselves.

Well, that's understandable.

Great link.

Only 13% of LSU fans by that survey regard Ole Miss our biggest rival (numbers that don't seem contradicted by this thread at least).

Great rivalries (think OU-Texas [90%+ for each], OSU-Michigan [96%+ for each]) seem to have symmetry between them.

It's at best a secondary rivalry if 87% of your opponents' fan base doesn't regard you to be their top rival.

Right, and the same link reveals that while 60.5% of LSU fans regard Alabama as their biggest rival, only 0.07% of Bama fans think the same. That's a MUCH bigger disparity. Just saying.

ol miss has always considered al their biggest rival. then ol miss considers miss st at their next biggest rival.

i have always had respect for ol miss, but b/c we were ranked so low by ol miss, i accepted ark very readily as soon as they joined the sec.

ark has become our biggest rival.

again, i love and respect ol miss, but you pulled out of the biggest rival race. were we supposed to just wait around for you?

you got let go.

p.s. i love the black bears logo. congrats.

The AP gave one to them after Bobby Bowden went on television and cried like a little bitch for everyone to "Please, give us another chance."

Notre Dame earned, deserved and should have received it.

Col Toddy why don't you got hang with the rest of the snots on the spirit board and contemplate the new bear enclosure Ole Miss will be building. Ole Miss is not our "main" rival. We just think the fans are a-holes!

Exactly. Arkansas hates OM more than LSU anyway. (in large part because of Nutt)

So by this logic why can't we claim to hate Bama more than Ole Piss and consider them a bigger rival because of Saban... Tim Brando said himself last week on his radio show, withe Miles getting his second win over Saban it really fueled the fire to growing intense rivalry, even said it was gonna turn into something along the lines of the Ohio State-Michigan (Woody vs Bo) matchups, or course I don't really know about all that, but if both stick around for awhile we'll see

oh and GEAUX TO HELL!

I wanted to pull this quote from the front page, just to show how fricking stupid most people are on the Rant.

I would love for Ole Miss to be our rival again. But you aren't. And you won't be, until you get a real stadium and a real team. I went to Oxford last year; sitting in high school bleachers wasn't exactly the gameday experience I had hoped for. A Co-Western Division Championship banner? Really? A couple bullshite NC's? Bush league.

You're program is 30 years behind. If you want to compete with the big boys (namely: LSU), try updating your facilities, your program, and for Christ's sake, try and find your way to Atlanta.

Ole mrs sounds kind of like ULL and La Tech, ''gosh LSU please tell me your our rival, well you are whether you think so or not''.
