And yet if you ask most Arky fans, they wouldn't agree. OM is a much bigger rival to them than LSU.

You obviously don't communicate very well. You're asking LSU fans if Ole Miss is LSU's biggest rival. The answer is no.

Maybe Ole Miss fans consider LSU to be its biggest rival. But it's not reciprocated. Ole Miss is irrelevant to most LSU fans these days, especially in football.

Right but you haven't won anything since 63. So, there' really no show by your side since the 60's. How the frick does that make you a rival? Great you sucked less in the 90's but come on.

So Ole Miss is allowed to claim us as a rival even though LSU doesn't think so, but LSU is not allowed to claim UA, UF, AU because they don't think so?

I see.

I consider Ole Miss a "rival" in a traditional sense, but in no way in a relevant sense. Win a title in something sometime soon, and I may reconsider.

Arkansas is our rival. There is a trophy involved.

Your student government came up with the Magnolia Bowl concept. If we're not your main rival, WHY did they do this?
as a lame and fruitless attempt to resurrect a now dead rivalry

I mean, it is ole miss' fault the rivalry is dead anyway

Being very old (by the board's standards, at least), I grew up when Ole Miss was our main rival (as I was not from New Orleans and Tulane had become largely irrelevant). It still hurts like blazes to lose to the Rebs. I would be quite happy if you all found a way to be a consistent contender, so that the rivalry could reassume its place as an annual showdown of national significance. Sadly, that is not the case very often these days.

The vast majority of Tiger fans don't agree these days, but I'll accept your assertion.

I'm just saying that we are your main (historical) rival.

It's been pretty even since then.

I hate Alabama because they're one of the best college football programs and we have to play them every year in a game of national significance.

I hate Ole Miss because they're like an annoying little kid. Sure, they can't beat you up but every once in a while they'll kick you in the shin and make you want to pop 'em.

You still haven't answered my question so I'll ask again:

So Ole Miss is allowed to claim LSU as a rival even though LSU doesn't think so, but LSU is not allowed to claim UA, UF, AU because they don't think so?

O RLY?

how many times has Old Miss been to Atlanta for the SECCG? zero

SEC titles since 1963? zero

national titles since 1962? zero

head-to-head vs. LSU? 55-39-4

and Old Miss has been to three bowls in the last seven years.

oh, and then there's this:

It makes NO sense to claim one of these schools as your rival.

Fine, but by that logic it makes no sense for you to claim LSU as your rival. We don't give a frick about Ole Miss.

woah. speak for yourself. i hate Old Miss and hate losing to them. i would rather beat Old Miss than any other team we play annually (other than games that determine SEC west champions)
