anyone been to this place before?
from Daily Report:
Mugshots signs deal to open in Towne Center
Mugshots Grill & Bar, a Mississippi-based restaurant chain, has signed a sublease for the old Champps Americana space in Towne Center. Plans are to open Mugshots "very quickly," says Austin Earhart of Beau Box Commercial Real Estate, who represented Champps in the deal. "They should be open in weeks," he says. Mugshots, which was founded in Hattiesburg, Miss., opened in 2004. The chain has five locations, with spots in SEC cities such as Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Starkville, Miss. Mugshots specializes in sports bar staples such as hamburgers (including one that comes topped with peanut butter), chicken wings and sandwiches. Champps closed in January, and finding a restaurant to sublease the space was difficult, Earhart says. Because of exclusivity clauses with the restaurants that already had locations in Towne Center, about the only sort of eatery that could take over the space was a fast casual sports bar. "This is a good concept that offers great service," Earhart says. —Timothy Boone

They're gonna need to sell a shite load of burgers to pay the rent there.
Hopefully they can stay open til 2 and make money from the bar like the Tuscaloosa location.

Hopefully they won't insist on cooking their burger meat until it's gray like the Tuscaloosa location.

Used to go to the one in Jackson MS when I lived there. It had good food and a mid 20's crowd with live music.

I'm only familiar with the one in Hattiesburg. It pretty much turns into a Fred's after dark. Anyone know if they will do much of that there?
Any clue when they're going to open??

The burgers at the one in Jackson were pretty solid. And the wait staff averaged an OT 7 which is pretty good.

I was assuming they would, but also heard they may take a more sports bar/restaurant style with the BR location. I don't think they will have bands.

Not too far from my house and workplace. Looking forward to giving this one a shot.

I eat at the one in biloxi all the time. Its basically the only place i can catch a game, get decent beer and good food. They do tend to overcook burgers, but its good meat and still very tasty. You can ask if they will take them off a little early, but its a toss up on how you will get it. Had one done better and the other the usual. They use sour dough buns which are a big plus and the fries i would rank very high on my list. Found out this weekend that the 2 origional owners own all of the locations, one owns 3 the other 2.... I hope just for there sake they take advantage of the availability of beer in B.R. to get a good selection. All of the other sandwiches are really good as well as the wings which i have found out are frozen. Not quite sure how other wings are done at other restaurants, but still tasty

It's really sad how many people just can't temp a freaking burger right, and how many can't cook anything that isn't mid well to well done.

the lease in that location is INSANE .. but it is still in pristine condition .. lights are on at night .. champp's just walked out of there and left it like it is, so someone can just walk in with cleaning supplies and open up quickly ... i wonder what mugshots lease situations are at their other locations ... here's hoping they aren't biting off more than they can chew ..

I thought champps was terrible. Looking forward to this place. Maybe they could dim the lights a little bit.

Champps was a pretty bad place to watch an LSU game.. Not all the seats had a good view of the tv, service was poor and after every play, they'd blare "1st Down".. Freakin drove me nuts..

I wonder if Five Guys knew about Mugshots coming when they started construction. Also wonder how directly the two places will compete with each other - both expensive-ish burger joints.
