He’s got a higher fielding %

But that doesn’t account for all the times that Morgan has bailed him out with outstanding catches at first.
Because he can’t throw to first. Serious case of the YIPS over there much like Rube Baker or Jose Altuve late last season

Whats new (and good) in BR?

Posted by Sobchak on 2/7/19 at 11:49 am
Lived in BR for 13 years but have been away for the last 2.

Whats new and worth checking out while I'm in town this weekend? Is Provisions legit? Anywhere else I should go?

Usual favorites are Merchant, Sammys, Chimes, City Pork, Olive or Twist, Beausoleil, Bistro Byronz, etc... I know the staples. Looking for the latest and greatest.

TIA .. see yall at the PMAC Saturday
I won a swing evaluation from 104.5 and it actually helped me. Just a few tidbits that helped me drive farther and more consistent. Taught me a couple drills too. The packages are long term and expensive though. Also, i don't fully trust the digital simulation. I think you get better feedback when on the range.
Maybe it's a Junction thing
Sounds a lot like Pitch, which I love and play with my family in Beauregard Parish. Pitch has a few more quirky rules though. I can see how it would be fun.
We don't exactly want what we have a street or two over (as the crow flies) from where we live either, but what you gonna do? I mean, Cherokee is one of the nicest streets in town which crosses Camellia (also a nice street). You would think that Southdowns is somewhat insulated from those areas. Apparently not.
Awesome.. My gf just moved a block from there. She moved from the garden district a block away from where the camellia st rapes happened.

Great news.

At least it's not a flat bill
You're a liar about that Tervis. The stainless steel versions are at least 10x better. Tervis will go out of business soon.
I've had Tervis and Yeti before the other brands caught on. Mine has my name and LSU logos laser etched. I recently picked up a "Fire and Ice" from albertsons for a canoe trip and it was 1/2. Works well. GF got me the yeti hopper 20 for anniversary. I asked for 2 Rtics... Bitch didn't listen. Just placed an order for the RTIC 30 softside. Gotta wait a month to get it, though.
I heard a little tidbit about Sterlings toxicology report, but too many degrees of separation for it to be coming out of my mouth.
Hopefully this new pitcher throws 94.. Then we may be able to hit him.

Thanks! However it's booked for our weekend. And the SXSW rates are ridiculous! We have a few options that we have put in requests for so far. Thanks to everyone for the clarity on the BS "related dwellers" rule.

Yup. That would be fantastic.

Haha. Pretty sure he was trolling. He won't ruin my good time. We will be there March 17-20

We plan to:
-hit hiking and bike trails (a lot of us have bikes)
-disc golf
-day on the lake, renting a pontoon boat
-UT baseball game vs Tulane
-SXSW is that weekend (not that we care... Mostly outdoor guys, not big music people)
-going to Punch Bowl Social at the Domain
-Rainey st
-Strip clubs
-lots and lots of drinking

The rest is up in the air. And to the other poster, we are all 30+ so we fit the criteria even though we act like teenagers hopped up on cocaine when we all get together. Should be fun. Someone is definitely getting arrested.

We will be stimulating the hell out of the economy, but we certainly don't want to be ripped off. And yes, our moral fiber will be stretched thin on a bachelor party. That's the point. Thanks for being a buzzkill. You probably have never been invited in a bachelor party so I understand your angst.

Awesome.. Thanks. We are trying to book near downtown so we are in the middle of it all. Tried the lake house and got rejected but the email was sent to the rental property manager. We are just gonna say it's 6 and hopefully it all works out.

Bachelor trip in Austin

Posted by Sobchak on 2/10/16 at 12:56 pm
We are looking at house rentals in Austin and around Lake Travis. However there is a city ordinance that states no more than 6 unrelated adults may dwell in a residence even for short term. Also, for each additional guest over 6 people, they are adding a $50 or $100 fee.

Does anyone have experience with these rentals? How closely do they monitor the number of people staying? Could we get away with a few stowaways to keep from getting butt fudged on the rates?

Any other must see places and strip clubs are appreciated.

TIA

I'm so glad this topic is here. I was just looking for the best place to ask TD about a place in BR that has tennis and racquetball.

That's all I really want. I don't give a flip how fat I am, I just want to play racket sports. Thread soon to come.

Buffalo River recommendations

Posted by Sobchak on 1/14/15 at 1:34 pm
A buddy of mine wants to go camping, canoeing, rafting, etc., for his 30th birthday coming up in April. We had both been to Ocoee River in TN and loved it. I'm trying to get him to break away from something we have both done and head up to Buffalo River.

Any recommendations on campsites, rafting guides, areas with good rapids, and places to see?

Both are about a 8-9 hour drive. I feel like Buffalo River would be more scenic and maybe a little better with the trails and rapids.

The other option is to go float Guadalupe River and get trashed in Austin.

Thoughts?

TIA.
Hearing someone crunch ice makes me want to punch them in the face and shake babies. I'll stare at them like they they just called my mother a whore. I get Soo fricking angry at this.

Also, when passing someone in the hall and they nod and say "Alright". That's not a greeting nor is it a question. It's an answer. I didn't ask you anything. I see that you are acknowledging my existence, but come on. Just STFU and go about your business. It's okay if you don't say something.

Whew. I feel better now.

Charlotte Bars and restaurants

Posted by Sobchak on 11/6/14 at 11:35 am
I'm in Charlotte for the evening on business. Any good recommendations for good eats and or drinks? Cigar bars?

Anything else recommended while I'm in town?

TIA

Had lunch there. Best Oysters Rockefeller I've ever had. Really good muffuletta sandwich, too. They will do great on months with an R. Maybe they can do soft shell crabs or crawfish in the spring and summer.

I will now go back for the east and west coast raw oysters. I really liked the decor. Good atmosphere and bartenders with plenty of.... Talent.

Interesting take. I haven't thought about it from that aspect. But couldn't you say the same thing about LSUs D-line?
