So I ate at Five Guys today.

Had the cheeseburger all the way. Place was packed after church but the line moved fast and we got a table. Waited about five minutes. Burger was good but I could probably eat a small all the way. That's just me. Really was a good one but I don't get the love for the fries. Hot. That's about it. Greasy and too thick. I don't like big fries that when you eat them it's like biting into a baked potato. I like thin really crisp ones and those ain't it. They also gave a bunch of extra fries dumped into the bottom of the bag. Everyone got these. Is this some promotional gig?
Next time I'll get a small all the way and no fries. I will go back though. I thought the burger was worth it.

Better than J. Alexander's burger?

Never had a J Alexanders burger. I only go there when I want a prime rib fix and they are about the only ones that do it. Never had anything else there except a salad.
Good and juicy. Mashed it down on the bun and had it running down my forearms. Give you a ton of fries but one napkin.

Not even close. Not even in the same ball park.
In terms of fast food burgers, this is one of the better fast food burgers around.
However, it doesn't come close to J Alexanders, Capital City Grill, Mason's Grille, Superior (back when they used fresh ground meat) or Another Broken Egg Cafe.

Hell I'll have to check J Alexanders out.

They also dump the extra fries at the five guys in Atlanta. To greasy, to soggy. Are they frying them at to low a temp?

Whataburger is far superior.

I had Five Guys this weekend too. I thought the burgers were ok. Nothing special. The "cajun" fries weren't that great either. Only thing I really liked was the hot dog. I'll probably only go back if someone else wants to go.

wife and i stopped at five guys n bilouxi when heading to ft morgan last week......
we both got the junior burger (1 patty instead of 2).....was a mistake, very little meat ... was mostly bread and condiments.
if i go again, i will get the 2 patty edition. meat didnt have much taste/seasoning.......but i guess thats why they load you up with condiments
fries were good. i will give them that.
im kinda like the poster above, if i am specifically going for a burger....Im headed to Capital City, Zea's or Mason's. havent eaten JAlex's.

Flemging's burger is out of this world!! If you can catch it on happy hour its only $6 and comes with onion rings. Never tried J. Alexanders but will give it a try.

They do the extra everywhere. That's their thing.
They fry them the way they do for the people who like them that way. I know that sounds obvious, but not everyone likes small crunchy fries.
I like the Five Guys frys as they are. If I want hot potato chips, I'll put some ruffles in the microwave. To each his own

I found the burger very similar to Sonic
