Any restaurants in the NOLA area currently serving it? My buddy in town from NYC loves the show Swamp People and wants to eat some.

We're not driving to BR for Chimes.

A lot of the places that serve "turtle" soup on thier menu, now use alligator meat instead. Antoines is one place I know that acutally calls it alligator soup now instead.

My buddy sells it wholesale to a lot of restaraunts in the area. I could pick it up from him, but don't feel like cooking it. We may check out Cochon.

Its widely available - even most pizza places use it - Louisiana Pizza Kitchen and Crescent Pie and Sausage company both have it.

fisherman's cove/harbor seafood....much, much better value than a Cochon type place. Plus, their beer is ice cold and cheap as hell.

Just about every time I go to Sammy's I order the blackened Alligator off the app menu, for my meal.
It' easily a meal and one of the best things from Sammy's !!

Annyyboodddy? Only place I know in BR is Tony's and I'm not fighting traffic to get there and back.
They have it at $6.99/lb & BigFisher has it at $10.99/lb. Was hoping somebody had a better suggestion.

ETA: Nevermind. Found a good spot. Louisiana Fish house on Dupre.

What about fisheman's cove on williams?

Or you could call a few seafood market's around your area and see if they have it.

How about some marsh hen?

No kidding, Don's seafood on Veteran's has fried alligator on their appetizer menu. I would think Mulate's in the quarter would have it also.

I would think any of the small seafood stores can get it, if they don't already stock it. All the seafood stores in Lafayette stock alligator and turtle meat in their freezer.
