Do you care about Camo patterns?

I was watching some hunting shows last night and noticed that most of the commercials were selling new camo patterns. It got me wondering if people care what pattern they use/buy?
I pesonally don't think the pattern is that big of a deal. Maybe it is in certain circumstances like using the old school Army camo while duck hunting in a corn field, but for the most part I think pattern is irrelevant. I really don't think it matters while deer hunting.
The only factor that comes into play when I buy new camo is what's on sale, what they have that fits.
I try to avoid anything that Realtree sells. I don't know why, but I don't like Bill Jordan. He looks fake to me.

Anything but Mossy Oak. Realtree being my favorite.

I just don't like wearing two different patterns at the same time. Other than that it doesn't really matter to me.

Everything same pattern is faux pas. That's how you tell how long someone has been hunting. The more different patterns, the more seasoned hunter. ie, don't sit next to the guy in the blind who has all matching camo.

I use whatever is cheapest. I have a hunter orange vest and hat when deer hunting, or even squirrel hunting in deer season, so camo is pretty much a waste of time. A little natural foliage propped up in the right spot can help though.
Duck hunting, it depends on the blind. If its a nicely built blind, then camo is less important as I will be well hidden. Walking through flooded timber is a different story. I'll usually be all camo, but I'm still going to find a few palmettos to put up in a makeshift blind.
I don't bowhunt, or hunt turkey, but I imagine you need some pretty great camo for both.

I buy most of my camo after the season when it is on clearance. I have family in MO so when we go I always stop by the BPS catalog outlet store and look for things that were returned. I got a pair of Redhead Gortex Thinsulate bibs for over $100 off becaseu they were missing one snap!
Pattern doesnt really matter for deer IMO unless it is a drastic difference. Striking diffrences cause visual lines and those lines are exactly what you are trying to hide with camo.
For duck hunting I like hat and coat to match.
I hog hunt in blue hospital scrubs frequently and they usally match too.

When deer hunting you have to wear orange so it doesn't matter that much. I think pretty much all of the new camo is pretty effective.

Duck and Turkey hunting you need to blend in a much as possible. Other than that you can pretty much wear earth tones and skip the camo.

Only time I care is when I am duck hunting. I usually don't hunt in blinds or pits, so I want to blind in the best I can. Funny thing is my "yellow" lab is almost white and he has yet to flare a single duck.

lol. I hunt in bluejeans and a hoodie or what ever is warm. I mean WTF is the point of Camoing out with a F***ing guillie suit and then wearing hunters orange?
But people do it. so they sell it.

I like dressing up in camo. But it is ridiculous spending all that money and then you end up in a box.

Camo doesn't matter one bit.
On a bet with a freind I hunted every hunt in an orange jumpsuit for an entire hunting season to include Deer, duck, geese, turkey. That year I killed 8 turkeys all but one on public land across the country, killed deer and had a great duck season.
In a normal year I put whatever is close at hand on. Camo, earthtone doesn't matter do me. Sitting still is the name of the game.

Friend who once flew over a lake with many blinds told me it was amazing how much the hunters' faces showed up.

I have a lot of different camo. Different patterns and brands. But the main theme is they are all dark colors. I hunt a lot of swampy flooded areas and try to blend in with the shadows as mush as I can. If I'm in a box stand I don't care. I've killed deer in blue jeans and a hoodie. Most of my really warm clothes just happen to be camo though. For pure camo purposes though I like mossy oak break up. It matches where I hunt the best and that's what's important to me.

Ducks are notorious fibbers.
