re: How long will blue crabs last on ice?
Posted by North of I-10 on 9/2/10 at 2:39 pm to TrevBlows
yes, fish and houseguests 3 days ok. After that both are rotten.
I actually think you could push it much longer. Think about how long those longliner boats are out and they come back with everything on ice, and then it gets shipped around for another couple of days.

re: Do you care about Camo patterns?

Everything same pattern is faux pas. That's how you tell how long someone has been hunting. The more different patterns, the more seasoned hunter. ie, don't sit next to the guy in the blind who has all matching camo.
re: Properly Measuring a fish

Additionally, if you are fishing in a circuit environment, all weights count toward, championship/angler of the year/ etc. You want to weigh every legal fish no matter the size. I understand in a one tournament event, there would be no reason for this as long as you were beat. Some tournaments offer prizes for smallest legal fish/lowest weight etc. Back to the point, with bass, close mouth, push against bump board, swipe tail, if it touches line it measures. This is true for minimum lengths as well as the slot. If the slot is 14-17 and tail just touches 14 its a slot fish, if it just touches 17, its an over and legal.

its not a defense its the way it is. Comparing deer on a driveway to fish in the water is apples to oranges.

seal off canals with dirt/rock/whatever. Eliminate the ebb and flow of tide and the movement of fish/crabs/shrimp/etc into these areas. Like i said earlier, you cant have it both ways.

water subject to the ebb and flow of tide is fair game. Block the tidal influence off if you want private. You can't have it both ways.
