It's becoming crystal clear... Missouri is the 14th team

Anything else wouldn't make sense.
UT, OU, TT, and OSU are headed west and not available. Tex A&M is number 13. The SEC office has leaked that it's not interested in any ACC teams. 13 teams is an odd number and won't work. Florida State would add absolutely nothing to TV value.
Slive is a smart man. Missouri is next.

Adding Missouri would add KC and STL TV markets. Guess we'll see what happens.

Not a chance for Mizzou. VT is number 14.

21st and 32th tv market.
Va Tech would bring 9th and 43rd ranked markets. Alot more than both the households Missouri would.

the conference doesn't give a frick about national appeal.
$$$$$$ >>>>>>> national appeal

Then how would the east and west breakdown be? They are gonna want to keep Alabama and Auburn in the same conference. Because if one of them stayed in the west and the other in the east, then they would either have to break up the yearly Auburn/Georgia game or Alabama/Tennessee game in favor of a yearly Alabama Auburn matchup from the east and west.

FSU has a better program and national appeal = tv ratings for ESPN/CBS

Prob not. More worried about Chiefs and Rams.

yeah, so based on your speculative bullshite, it's now "crystal clear?"

If it was Missouri who was added, both Alabama and Auburn would move to the East (if going by geography). This would also resolve the whole UA/UT and AU/UGA issue.

I don't really see what Missouri brings to the table. I agree VT would bring more.

Try Chiefs and Cardinals. If there were a law passed that each major metropolitan area could have only one major league sports team (not one in each league), St. Louis would toss the Rams and Blues in a picosecond.

Regardless. It's apparent that they are more worried about tv markets and $$$$ than they are "appeal."
Besides, within the last few years Florida St. hasn't been that "appealing" anyway.
You can try to twist it all you want, but the StL market is more than likely bigger than Tallahasee.
