I haven't.

When it first came out, I wasn't into a TV show like Castaway. When I found out it was really a trippy Sci-Fi show it was too late to just tune in.

I kept hearing about how you have to see every episode in order to know what is going on, even then you still don't really know what is happening.

So, I come on this board and see it is basically a unanimous top three show.
I see it is on Netflix instant.
So should I invest the time and start watching it, or has the last season just ruined the show, to where it won't be worth sitting through a hundred+ episodes.

I'm curious to start watching, I know people who love this show, and people who used to love the show and now hate it.

Just trying to get an idea of why it is considered such a good show.

I never watched it when it came out either, I just never really bothered. I saw how popular it was getting though, so before S5 came out last year I rented the first disc of season 1. I was gonna give it a 4 episode commitment. After 4 episodes I was hooked as hell and watched all 4 seasons within a month or so time. It is VERY addicting.

If you dont know too much about what is happening in this season, start watching it from the first episode. I was hooked after watching the first episode on dvd then finished the first 2 seasons in about a month and have been watching religiously since then.

never seen a second of it. I can't do these "appointment" tv shows due to a schedule that changes by the minute so I just don't start.

TV episodes should be stand alone, not some weekly hour long movie that I have to see every week

Nothing against it. I heard about it the first season and it just seemed like too much of a commitment (It just seemed like I needed to watch every episode and pay attention)

I haven't, but I might give it a shot this summer on netflix. Didn't sound that interesting when it came out. Even after it grew and I became interested in seeing what the fuss was all about I didn't have the time or inclination to catch up and see what the show was all about.

This season hasn't been bad at all. There is one episode that is particularly atrocious which is why it has turned into a LOST flamewar this past week, but all in all, the final season has so far been very good and aside from that one episode, it has met my high expectations.

The characters and mythology are very good and intriguing, and the plot is extremely unpredictable, very good, and it doesn't appeal at all to the lowest common denominator and wants its viewers to analyze it. LOST is a very difficult show to explain. Give it a spin.

Same thing happened to me. I'll watch it on Netflix eventually.

I haven't...I wouldn't mind watching it, but it's hard for me to keep up with a serial show.

I've only seen the very first episode, rented it from Netflix. Neither the wif nor I were impressed and that's all she wrote.
