I'm a fan of Central BBQ. Great dry rub, and they have good sauce if you prefers yours with. I used to like Rendezvous, but the last two times I've been the ribs have been cooked to absolute shite and dry as a bone.

Probably the most overrated BBQ joint in Memphis.

The best, IMO, is The Bar-B-Q Shop on Madison Ave.

Maybe it was just an anomaly. Before that it's been good.

Well I went to Memphis for a 2 basketball tournaments back in July and for lunch definitely go to the Central BBQ for pulled pork sandwich or just the pulled pork with 2 sides and a bread. Got to have the sweet tea with a lemon as well. For dinner I had been to Rendezvous twice while I was there. first night the ribs were great. Second night, a little overcooked. On another night I had the BBQ shop and that was money. I had pulled pork and brisket and a couple players of mine had ribs, chicken and pork as well. All of it was great. For lunch I recommend Central BBQ though and dinner definitely BBQ shop! Those two IMO were MONEY!! Rendezvous is too hit and miss.

Sonny's isn't even the best BBQ in Baton Rouge, let alone Memphis...

If you go to Memphis and eat at a chain like Sonny's, you should be euthanized.

This couldn't be any closer to the truth. BBQ Shop is the best in Memphis, in my opinion. Central BBQ is a close second. Rendezvous has turned into a tourist trap that cooks ribs assembly line style. Sometimes you'll get a rack that is perfect other times you'll get one that is dried out and has little meat on the bone. Interstate is ok, but just middle of the road. G-Town Commissary is very good, but a bit out of the way (out in the burbs). Kozy Korner is very underrated too.

But, if you have to pick one spot, go to the BBQ Shop - Awesome.

Where is Kozy Korner? That is probably the only place I haven't been yet? I will be back in Memphis during the summer again for sure and maybe sometime in February to watch a kid I coached that plays for the Univ. of Memphis. Would love to find another GREAT spot to take him so with some of his teammates.

Kozy korner is on north parkway. On the north end of downtown close to the pyramid. It's kind of a dive, but the food is incredible...especially the Cornish hen.

Any love for Blues City Cafe on Beale?

I ate there a year and half ago and it was damn good.
