I know they just opened a location in Lafayette. How's the product? Is it shitty meat and stuff? Fresh toppings? A quick rundown would be greatly appreciated...

I would have to say the meat is not taco bell meat by any means. The food is very good for a fast food type mexican place. I suggest you go, you will not be disappointed.

You go through a line like a subway, see them fix your food in front of you. the employees are usually kind of different, but nice. The burritos are HUGE, but my fav is the chicken nachos. You will not leave hungry.

One opened in Lake Charles a few weeks ago as well. Never understood why people like this place- the food is incredibly mediocre, even for "that type" of food.

It's like any other fast food. Not bad, but nothing to get excited about.

I'm a fan, the meat is cooked in the resturaunt over a grill, and during lent they have shrimp. Lots of variety and toppings, a very good burrito, which I prefer over Chipotle. Of course, each has their own personal tastes.

Much better product than Moe's. I wish they would open one up on the northshore.

Went to the one in LC a few weeks back, first time for any of thier locations. $13 or 14 even for their medium sized burrito, chips, casso, and a drink. Thought it was a little cold for being made fresh right in front of me but was pretty good. It was awesome leftover not sure why though. Pretty cool place, little pricy, very quick, but not my favorite place to eat, 3.9 out of 5 stars

It's my favorite of all those types of places. The meat is good quality.

I don't find it that expensive; a regular burrito is more than enough food for anyone. One of those with a bottle of water is ~6 bucks. Not bad at all IMO

casso,

Don't believe I've ever had that in a Mexican place before. Is it a cousin of the pork we have in cajun food?

ETA: Izzo's is pretty good for fast food.

It takes ten minutes and costs less than $10. What were you expecting?

I like Izzo's. What they do, they do it well. It's pretty good food, at a fairly inexpensive price, and you get it quick.

I'll admit, I am a fan of their cilantro ranch dressing.

Mine was way too cold. Service line---add fixings, pay bill, get drinks. There has got to be a better way. The wind from the Northeast door does not help matters. I'll stick with Cottons.

2 things I dont like about Izzos:

1. no free chips and salsa
2. Queso sucks

The hubby and I think it's pretty expensive, for what it is. The price has gone up significantly in the past couple years.

I ate the Illegal Burrito once. Don't know how I did it.

But on topic, I find that Izzo's is a little skimpy on the meat. Ok, a LOT skimpy on the meat, no matter what kind you get.

They also charge extra for ridiculous items: Mushrooms or quacamole, for example ($1.25 for a tablespoon of mashed avocados? Seriously?).

They are good for a change, because you get in and out quickly.

Quesadillas are pretty good. But not enough meat.
