Sorry, but that was right call at that time. If anyone messed up, it was Flynn for wasting a LOT of time from sideline to snap.

what if the auburn DB turns around and intercepts the pass when you have a sure field goal to win the game in the palm of your hand ?? would it have been the right call then ??

He could have been motioning to get lined up on the ball as the clock would start as soon as the ball was marked ready for play.

This is college football, not the NFL. QB's don't have wired helments in college.

DOn't you get it, they are all on an "open line" to hear what they all sya.

Miles heard it all and he was making that motion. No what ifs, tell us what he was saying by motionaing that!!

Miles heard every word on his headset and made that motion. Live with it, HE SCREWED UP!

But Crowton is the one who must having been speaking it, Crowton should be on the next bus out of town.

For what it's worth, my take. Les looks like he initially was calling to clock it and quickly changed his mind after looking at the clock, or someone telling him, and there was only one second left. It looks to me like he his pointing his arms to say he was down over and over. I have to agree that the field goal team should have been put out on the field regardless, but watching this video does not prove that Les is a Liar. He may be a clayhead, which I am sure he and other members of his staff hold claim to this title, but to say he is Liar because of this video is a joke. Report the facts and make assumptions. I do believe WBRZ has spun this for the exposure it has gained and it may not be right but who cares? It's too late now and maybe this is what the coaching staff needed to make the proper changes to avoid this confusion again in the future-Whatever those changes may be-. Just beat Arkansas by a few TD's and some will forget. Win your bowl game convincingly and some more will forget. Make some important changes for the future of our program at the end of the year and most of us will forget, until it happens again!

WBRZ GOT IT RIGHT! Les IS signaling to down the ball and he's mouthing "CLOCK IT" running down the sidelines. Watch it from the other angle CBS has and you can see Jefferson looking at him as he's running down to the line. Then Les says, "I don't know who told him to clock the ball."

Sorry, that's bullsh#t Les!

They are claiming they never called him a liar.

I called out the writer on it, and his response to me in email was:

Thanks for the email, I don’t know where you saw us call him a liar, but you are wrong. Thanks again,

The facts hurt......sorry you feel this way, but I give them a thumbs up for reporting the TRUTH and not being scared of the almighty LSU.

How come none of you 'les called the spike play' idiots can explain why Les and the wide receiver coach would be calling in a play 30 yards from where JJ was at the time?

In Miles's defense I'd point out that no team has a one second play.

WRONG
WRONG
WRONG
quote:

After the Golden Gophers (1-2) punted the ball out of bounds with 19 seconds remaining in the fourth, Hance hit receiver Taylor Stubblefield with a 39-yard pass over the middle with one second left. The clock stopped as the officials spotted the ball.

"A first down was made on the play and that stops the clock," referee and crew chief Dick Honig said. "When the ball was made ready for play, I felt they snapped the ball in time. I didn't make the decision alone."

Purdue's kicking team scrambled on to the field. Without officials under the uprights, the referee whistled the play to start and Travis Dorsch booted a career-long 48-yard field goal to tie it up.

...

quote:

"Every week in practice we work on this exact situation," Tiller said of the quick field goal. "I am just happy that our snapper (John Shelbourne) had the presence of mind to not hold the ball and snap it right away."

wbrz knows they are fricked. look at all the threads that say liar and reputation ruined in subject line, together.

all that came from cauble and wbrz. you got the libel, and you got the harm, if the a.d. and miles wanted, heads would roll. this news org is at their mercy.

that said, miles still sucks. but not bec he is a liar.

Okay, Miles gave the signal to "clock it", he said he did not give the signal to "clock it", why did he say that, to protect his quarterback so the fans and press would not rag on Jordan Jefferson.

Any questions.

That is a sign of a great coach.

"I felt they snapped the ball in time."

"I felt" !!!!

So the referee in our game, LSU/OLE MISS, did not (((FEEL))) the same way. So this is the reason we lost because the referee did not feel good about LSU therefore LSU should not have "clocked it" in time because the referee "felt" LSU did not deserve credit for downing the ball in time, less than a second.

So what should be done to this referee for not feeling good about LSU just because LSU is LSU :o)

(((this thread is full of stupid)))

Absolutely correct

We lost this game because the referee made a ruling the game was over because he KNEW Jefferson did not down the ball in less than a second.

So the referee KNEW it took more than a second for Hebert to hike the ball to Jefferson and Jefferson to then spike the ball to the ground.

bullshite !!!!

The ball was downed in LESs than a second.

How long is a second, say outloud, "one thousand and one".

And the referee is saying Jefferson did not down the ball in less time than one could say, "one thousand and one".

bullshite

99.9999% of referees would not have ended the game under these circumstances.

if this really bothers you then try living in a big city where they routinely take on the team. WBRZ isn't obligated to bow down and accept Les' excuse, that isn't their job.
