Mine went from 65 to 73 a month. I'm presently 32 and I haven't had any wrecks or moving violations since before I was 20.

WTF?

Miles' Statement on Florida Coach Resignation
That was coherent.

No fricking way he wrote that himself. Probably had his new clock manager do it.
There are no dynasties in college football.

Ctually for about a year after the BCS (BCS.org) called 2003 a "split decision with LSU winning the coach championship and USC the AP".

But only on of those two teams won the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME. usc won the Rose Bowl Championship, quite an accomplishment, but not a NATIONAL championship GAME.

quote:

I could swear that this is a championship trophy as well.

It is a championship trophy, much like the SEC Championship trophy is a championship trophy.

It is not the NATIONAL championship trophy.

The NCAA disagrees.

I dunno if you noticed,

BUT THE NCAA DOESN'T AWARD NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS TO FBS TEAMS

hence their opinion is irrelevant.

quote:

LSU did win the 2003 National Title
Outright. OK. It was not a split title.

Done deal dude, that was 6 years ago, WTF?

But since you mentioned it...

my father's best friend took his son to see USC because he was thinking about going to school there. They took a tour of the school, and the tour guide of course at one point took them by the USC football trophy case. After she made her spiel, my father's friend asked her where the crystal football from the 2003 championship was. She looked at him confused as if she didn't know WTF, said I dunno, and moved the tour group onward.

This is how clueless USC fans are.

we had 2 drives during the entire game that went for more than 6 plays.

6 plays 25 yds punt
5 plays 27 yds punt
3 plays 14 yds int
3 plays -12 yds punt
5 plays 4 yds punt(penalty)
4 plays 6 yds turnover on downs

I doubt your summary is correct, because its lacking 3 points.

Are you saying we scored those 3 in less than 6 plays?

It stands to reason then that had we had the extra 6:30 that would have made par possesion time, we could have pulled off two or three sub 6 play scoring drives.

WE HAD 23:30 ON OFFENSE.

That's like playing a 47 minute game.

Florida's first drive was 8:11

WAS THAT OFFENSE's FAULT?

NO

I don't know for sure but that number does not sound right.

In 2009, Florida burned 8:11 off the clock on their first drive.

In 2007 - guess how much LSU burned off the clock in their last drive?

8:11

I'm not kidding.

CLEARLY in the last two LSU-FL games, time of possession is the most important factor.

Bend but don't break gives your offense no time to score.

I doubt the CC company did that unless the parent had signed guaranteeing the debt for their child. Are you sure you have all the facts?

I know for a fact they were chased for the credit card debt of their son. Perhaps it wasn't the CC company themselves but a collection agency. That would probably make more sense I guess, as collection agencies are known for scummy tactics.
quote:

ETA: A person's estate is made up of both assets and liabilities. The CC company can file a claim against the estate. Perhaps that is what happened?? As far as I know (and any estate attorney is better qualified to address this issue) any creditor can file a claim against the assets of a person's estate, limited to the value of the assets in the estate.

True that - but he had no net assets. There's no way his car was worth his debt. I guess they had a right to the car, but even in that case - shouldn't the collection agency/cc company be communicating with the attorney handling the estate and not the agrieved parents?

Just seemed kind of dick to me. I think if your a CC company handing out money to 18 year olds then you should understand you're taking a risk - if they pass unexpectedly they're unlikely to have much assets and/or life insurance - so if you're going to make that loan you should be prepared to eat it if they die.
...people's parents when they die? I had a friend who died young with about 15k in credit card debt. The credit card companies went after his parents, who were simple hard working Americans completely unaware of the fact that your debts die with you and they didn't owe the card companies a dime.
The BCS sucks. I like that LSU has won it twice but its really just a coincidence its worked out in our favor.

Either bring back the old system where there is no collective effort to match #1 and #2 - and everyone argues who the real #1 is at the end of the year - but some years by magical coincidence #1 and #2 wind up in the same bowl and its awesome.

Or give us a playoff. One of reasonable size. Not too big. Like 8 teams.

The BCS is a bastard child of a playoff and the old "every bowl for itself" tradition - and its ugly as hell.

re: One problem with a playoff

Posted by MisterLuce on 12/7/09 at 11:35 am to
The solution is simple. Extend the season earlier by one week in August. That gets one week.

The NC is pretty much a week after the BCS games so there's already a 2 week playoff that can be built on that schedule.

Hold the first round of the 8 team playoff on the first Saturday in December. Losers go to bowls and the 4 winners have a month to prepare for a 2 week 4 team playoff.

There you go.
