Rich Rodriguez and his epic failure will lead Miles to his dream job within 2 years.

With the way Les is recruiting now, there's no question that he'll be here in 5 years. He's already got great players committed to coming here then.

In college football, most of the time the team with the best players wins. LSU and Alabama will consistenly win the SEC West because of superior talent.

In ten years, who knows?

I'd put the over/under at four years.

eta: mainly depending on what happens at Michigan.

Yes, Miles is here for the long haul. He'll be a consistent 10-2 coach with a couple of seasons above that and a few below that. LSU is the place to be. I mean, it's not LSU is in a conference (i.e. Big 12, Pac-10) where a team can win 11-12 games for 5-9 years in a row.

The answer will be much clearer after this season.
I don't think he will be here in five years. The demise will be not living up to expectations.

He will coach here as long as he wants to. He has a NC and great recruiting to follow. He has the same opportunity Saban had: be a legend here or follow a legend and live in his shadow somewhere else.

If Chavis doesn't work out, then I think Miles is gone. Because it shows that Miles doesn't have enough football acumen to keep LSU at the top.

Les recruits better than anyone we've ever had. He gets the players. The Crowton hire as OC was genius. The Malleveto was disaster.

Les is investing his future at LSU on Chavis.

I believe Miles will be the coach in five years, but if hes not his demise was he won another national championship and Michigan came calling again and he took them up this time.

miles will be there forever--when you win a title you get a pass for a long long time- plus his recruiting is still just incredible- so he is good now with winning seasons and pretty good bowls as a min now for 4 more years
