I've got friends coming in from Houston, which place would you take them too?

Poorboys are really easily available in south LA. Why not show your guests a really good "cajun experience" at Prejean's?

If you do go to Prejeans, stick to gumbo or fried food

POORBOYS Riverside Inn does NOT mean that is all they serve. You can take the to Riverside without hesitation and they won't feel like they are at a coonass stuckeys with three busloads of purpleheads. Another good place is Cafe Des Amis in Breaux Bridge but take them for the Sundy Zydeco Brunch whish is on Saturday Morning.DO BOTH!!!!

I always preferred Prejeans even though I live just down the road from Riverside.

If you go to Prejean's, get the Eggplant Abbeville appetizer. It's my favorite part of the meal. Fried eggplant wheel topped with sautéed jumbo lump crab and shrimp with cane syrup Worcestershire cream.

I actually had a disappointing meal yesterday at Riverside. The Oyster Dinner was a bad choice. Should've stuck with the usual awesome Riverside/Extravaganza or one of their kickass crab dishes. The seafood stuffed mushrooms were totally kickass though, and the fried oysters were actually quite good.
