Never heard so much whining!!!

They'll just have to breach the contract, and pay damages. No problem. We don't have any problem scheduling quality home games.

Tulane, your mandate is now clear. Go to Red Stick, beat their asses, and refuse to ever play them there again. Bastards.

The only reason this series happened in the first place was because Skip Bertman was LSU's AD at the time. Now they have another moron in there and they're going back to their same old crap.

Screw them ... Tulane should have never got that deal from LSU in the first place. We were just being nice.
That said, it is kinda shitty to go back on the deal now, though. I actually don't mind the "shakeup" of playing a regular season game in NOLA every couple of years.
But I certainly understand the "business side" of this decision for LSU. Alleva was hired for his financial expertise. It does make no business sense for LSU to play "home games" in New Orleans, and it never did.

It will be interesting to see how the LSU fans take this. If Tulane refuses to play in Baton Rouge without return trips, and LSU resorts to a home schedule made up of 4 SEC games and 4 cupcake blowouts, I'd imagine the LSU fans - particularly in the New Orleans area - will be disgruntled.
Does he Mean that he thinks Tulane is not a Blow out?

All I ask for in terms of OOC scheduling is one mid/lower level BCS OOC game per year and I really don't care who we play in the other 3 OOC games. Every couple of years throw in a "major power" in place of the mid/lower level BCS team.
It is very nice when they add a "destination" like Washington... other places that would be good would be Boston College in Boston, Northwestern in Chicago, UCLA in LA, Rutgers in NJ....

I'd like to see us play teams we have a losing record to square things up.

Tulane has fans
Exactly. I didn't even realize Tulane had fans, let alone fans passionate enough to post on a message board.

Here is a LINK from the YOGWF forum on the same subject.
Sounds good to me. Tulane needs LSU more than we need them.

Here is an ARTICLE from the Tulane Rivals site.
Tulane averaged 23,000 fans last year. When they play LSU in the Dome, Tulane can sell up to 29,000 tickets (the other 40,0000 goes to LSU). That extra 6,000 tickets nets Tulane another $240,000 (@ $40 per ticket). LSU pays Tulane $600,000 for the return trip to Tiger Stadium. Doesn't sound like Tulane is sacrificing hundreds of thousands in revenue as the article claims.

My thought on it is, if they want out, FINE BY ME, then pay us what you owe us for the canceled games and let's "call it a day" for good. Let's wash our hands with them once and for all, in EVERY aspect (football, basketball, and baseball). And, tell them flat out don't call us when you need to fill in an open date for a game. It is time we stop always playing these games by THEIR edicts. Maybe UL-L, La Tech, UL-M and others have to play the roles of "servant" to them, but we don't have to, nor should we. I would rather we expand our horizons and play other more national recognized program, who would gladly take a home / home with Tulane, and come to NO, then listen to their worn out lines over and over again. Time for Tulane to COMPLETELY sever ties with LSU, for once, for all, and forever.
Sounds good to me. Tulane needs LSU more than we need them.

Just for the privilege of playing the Tigers in the Dome, Tulane is willing to forfeit hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue. By the way, LSU does not show the same respect when the game is in Tiger Stadium.

If Tulane loses to McNeese this year, which I think is likely, they should just shut up and be happy people still want to go play football for them.

If the NCAA would put a 1 lower-level team limit on scheduling, the results would be very interesting.
would this result in many teams not being allowed to play lower level teams such as tulane?

Yeah, because LSU is just a SEC powerhouse!! Thats it, they're only the best team in the best conference.

frick Tulane. Agreed that in athletics, they need LSU more than we need them. They like to think it's still the 1960's and they're actually relevant in anything other than baseball (and I'm not so sure they're even relevant in that anymore).
Cue some Tulane fan posting how they're smarter than us and we'll be serving them fries.....

What the green weenies fail to realize is that tiger fans in NOLA would actually prefer the games in BR. I know many and have many friends in NOLA, and they would rather drive the hour for the atmosphere of campus tailgating and be in Tiger Stadium on a Saturday Night, not in the Superdome at 1030 in the morning.
A Tiger fan is a Tiger fan, whether he reside in NOLA or BR and Tiger fans prefer Death Valley. End of Discussion.

The only thing I would worry about with this is another school taking that spot @ The Dome for recruiting purposes.

A valid point, but I just can't see the UTs, OSUs, or USCs of the country traveling to NOLA to play tulane. Those teams and the like would be the only cause of concern for me recruiting-wise.

That and the only games that matter for LSU to play in the dome recruiting wise are played in dec or every 4 years in January.
