funny but when i looked at the US News & World Report article ranking the top engineering schools it ranked LSU and LA Tech ahead of ULL.... try again

If ULL wants to rename themselves "The University of Louisiana", then they should be allowed to do so.

UL’s enrollment was at 16,000 students, which made it one of the two largest schools in the three-state region of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas.
LSU 28000
Arky 18647
Ole Mrs 17323
Didn't even bother checking others after those three.
FAIL

The goal is not to become the state's flagship university per se, as that position is held by Louisiana State University and A&M College at Baton Rouge.
i love that they are guick to point this out when someone jokes on their name.

LSU is easy as the frick to get into. The people who can't get into LSU end up failing out of UL within a year

I heard that Nichols State was tired of being called Harvard on the Bayou, they want to change it to the University of Harvard, not to be confused with Harvard University.
I mean if they want to do it, why not?

LSU is a better university all-around. I mean, people who can't get into LSU go to ULL and SLU as a back-up if they want to stay in-state.
The difference between LSU and UL is the football team. When people think of LSU they think of Tigers football. I have never seen anyone say anything about academics. I guarantee 10% of LSU is there because of academics, the rest because of the football team. I'd say that 28,000 enrollment leans more to the fact it's so easy to get into. I guarantee if you it's hard to get into, like you say, there wouldn't be that many. Louisiana has one of the worst school success rates in the country and I know damn well those aren't out of state kids.

This may be the dumbest statement ever posted on this board.

Man, I guess Florida, Ohio St., Texas, etc. must be the easiest schools in the country! Their enrollments are huge!

I would bet that the majority of students rarely, if ever attend a football game. I paid for 2 LSU educations, both are doing extremely well in their fields, I think between the 2 of them they went to 3 games each.
The football team is fun for the fans, but LSU is about education.
I'm sorry if your school is so embarrassed of its name and the city it resides in, they refuse to accept it.

Florida, Texas, Ohio State are all better in the academics department than LSU. My point is Lousisiana and Mississippi have some of the worst school success rates in the country. Meaning kids in LA are stupid. Now imagine how much of that 28000 is just there for experience. I'd say that because of the easy acceptance. What's the minimum ACT score to get into LSU? Like 18. Don't argue, this is all true. Tulane is Louisana's best college. No one under a 28 gets in.

link?
(And I'm not talking about grade school - you would be right there. But you're saying the kids who attend/graduate from LSU have terrible success rates.) Anything to back that up?
