If they did away will all of the pretend exclusiveness that private schools give parents they would only have to pay once

What the heck? Here in Arkansas they have the learns act that provides families with a certain amount of money for helping to send your child to a private school if you wish. You just apply and they grant what money would have went to a public school on your behalf to the private school. I think it’s like 8,000 right now and most public schools are anywhere from 9,500 to 14,000. You may also get that same money for homeschooling your child.

They’re afraid half the public schools would close and many of the democratic voting teachers would be out of a job.

And all private schools in Arkansas are willingly part of this system?

In 2014. Vanderbilt conducted a survey of private schools in middle Tennessee. Almost none were in favor of accepting vouchers. Private schools...especially Christian schools...abhor the idea of taking taxpayer money if you then have to deal with all the government regulations that could come with it. Private schools relentlessly hold on to their independence from government.

I was a private school head previously in middle TN. Private schools already are entitled to a little federal money under Title I. At one of our quarterly luncheon, I asked my fellow heads if any of them took the federal money. None did, for exactly the reason I described.

Fix your schools that already get your tax dollars. Heck if Mississippi can be fixing their public school system, then Louisiana has no excuse.

If they did away with all of the "bloated" salaries of the parish school system administrators and went to bottom up funding, big change would result.

I went and read up on participants its approximately 160-170. That’s out of a total of 179-192. So basically yes, I was actually unaware there might be a couple who don’t participate.

It really depends on how the law is written. If I'm a head of school in Tennessee, for me to accept the kids, I would want the money to go from the state to the family, not my school.

Once you accept state money, the state then can mandate your science curriculum regarding the origin of the universe, gender issues...including who can use what bathroom, and the services you have to provide special needs kids.

I'm not letting state or federal government in my door.

they know if given a choice, certain folk wouldn't subject their kids to interactions with other certain folk. Can't have that!

It would force the schools to perform better. Parents would want to send their kids to the higher performing schools. This guy who voted it down has to be a RINO.
