That's not "rino" at all. School choice is a handout. If you have 2 kids and are given $5500 per kid for 12 years you are getting $132,000 handed to you. Sounds like a free shite democrat idea. If you want back the $1,200 in taxes per year that you pay that's dedicated to public schools so you can send your 2 kids to private school, fine. You pay out of pocket the other $13,000 per kid.

I am a Conservative and I support School Choice. It seems like a no brainer. Why would this guy want keep the status quo?

I also am in favor of school of choice.

I suspect some private school families would prefer that poor students not be able to attend because it’s a natural barrier to keeping the barbarians out of their schools and I can’t say I completely blame them given current events.

And they could have easily paid for the entire GATOR program if they had kept a small portion of the corporate taxes that they cut in place. Instead we got a shell game of a sales tax increase, and a flat 3% income tax (they could have also kept the corporate taxes and potentially gotten rid of the income tax entirely).

I didn't realize that "Private schools" were part of it. I was under the impression that parents pick a public/magnet school for their child to attend. That private schools were off the table. My niece and nephew are in private school. In a world where who know has more power than what you know. It's definitely a sound investment in your childs future.
