Argentina took one look at the weak arse United Kingdom, saw its leadership fail the Iran test in quite an epic fashion, and figured they could now take the Falkland Islands from the UK.
The UK has only itself to blame. There are things headed for Western Europe that it is so not ready for. Been warning about this for a long while now.

Argentina requested a US Ship, the USS Nimitz to be present. So that specific detail. The joint naval exercises with Argentina.
