Downs isn’t a nickel back, he’s a safety.

Bain = John Sullivan
Downs = Polamalu

Saints will pick Bain tonight

My favorite thing about downs is that he’s an absolute thumper. He hits ppl like he’s f’ng angry and any defense could use that from a safety. He lays the wood like a linebacker.

sullivan was a lazy fat arse drafted due to measurables over tape, he's really the polar opposite of bain.

trufant was the guy we passed on in that draft I was livid over

I don’t like using #8 on a safety

Go down to 16-18 and get Thieneman or EMW and have a bunch more picks if you’re going to do that

This is what hurts his value and makes him not "generational" to me.

The modern "generational" safety has to be able to play as a slot/NB guy, LB, and be able to cover both in man and in the deep part of the field. This allows you to play the 3 safety defenses that are becoming popular in the NFL

This is your Kyle Hamilton or Nick Emmanwori....or lesser versions like Antonio Johnson.

Early in the process I thought Downs could be this guy but as its gone on, I have my doubts.

Funny enough, Harold Perkins could theoretically become this type if he goes to the right team with the right coaches/scheme. I'm not saying we should draft him, but that physical prototype is what's needed. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren also has a shot, but likely lacks the coverage.

This is so far from being accurate. Can’t believe it got all upvotes but not surprising with the posters on here.

Sullivan had all the measurables and athletic ability and not much tape with no motor. Bain has the tape and not the measurables and a way higher motor.

Downs is no where near the athlete of Polamalu.

It's over dramatic sarcasm that everyone gets, but you are easy prey.

The hardest position to get right is d line. You go with Bain if you think he is it
