Report: US Officials Killed in Mexico Wreck Were CIA

I have serious doubts this was simply a "wreck".....

Two U.S. Embassy officials killed in a fiery car crash in northern Mexico were CIA officers involved in expanded U.S. counternarcotics efforts, according to a report by The Washington Post, citing people familiar with the matter.
The crash occurred Sunday in Chihuahua as the Americans were returning from meetings tied to a major drug lab takedown. Two Mexican officials also died in the accident which authorities say happened when the vehicle veered off the road, plunged into a ravine, and exploded.
Mexican officials said the Americans did not participate directly in the raid, which targeted what authorities described as one of the largest clandestine drug labs ever discovered in the region.

yep
Normal day occurrence to veer off a road then explode. Only about one percentage point added to the curiosity that it was CIA.

Real life isn't like this.
Rule of thumb, if the story involves the CIA, it's bullshite.

They are leaving out what caused the car to veer off the road into a ravine.

Having driven in Mexico from Mexico City to Oaxaca and Puerto Escondido. Them wrecking is very believable but also believable that somone ran them off either on purpose or just trying to get some shere. Mother frickers drive lke a 2 lane road is 3 lanes.

I came here to post this as well. Driving in the 3rd world is much more dangerous than the bandits, cartels and terrorists combined.

I'll be honest, and I don't really mean this in a pejorative way to Trump - but I think they knew this would eventually happen and it's built into the planning.
The pace of operations is picking up in Mexico. So is the rhetoric. We're sticking our thumb in Sheinbaum's eye and we had to know we'd get hit sooner or later.
I'd argue the cartels might be the #1 disruptive force to the Fortress Americas vision, and in a neighboring state we'll need for production capacity. There was probably already a built in tolerance for American intervention on the cartels, and an incident or two like this only enhances it.
Are we about to start hearing footsteps on Mexican cartels like we have Cuba?

So, the CIA is trying to prevent drugs from coming over the border? When did that start?

I've never driven those roads, so I'll take ur word for it. I wonder what the probability is for CIA folks driving these roads not long after aiding and providing intelligence to a large drug trafficking bust......
My uneducated guess is very, very, very low...

Kinda surprised we're not hearing more of this. I know the military said Spc Ops would be used to take down the drug lords and their manufacturing.
