I’m new to retirement. Less than 3-months.

Every Sunday, I feel amazing. No work mind at all - no Monday, week mtgs, projects or travel to plan for or think about.

Does this end? I hope not.

I spent day at FQ Fest. My biggest worry is do I go to Jazz Fest or plan hiking trip next weekend.

Hard to keep from smiling. This is an incredible feeling after 30+ years of quite the opposite.

I dabble part time - stay in my lane - and have a very nice life...mine hasn't ended. 35 years in inpatient IDD and psych served me well but can't imagine returning to the pace I once lived --- has been about 10 years or so, now.

Correct me if wrong, were you also poster on tiger roar? Years ago reference for me. Recall a WFallsTiger there, as well.

Thanks for your point here! Congrats, as well!

You make a great point but.... I really enjoy the weekdays. Golfing, fishing, shopping, etc. are all less crowded. I just make sure to begin my activities after rush hour.

Congrats on the retirement....don't forget to honor the One who made it all possible for you to have what you have by attending a bible-believing church on the Lord's Day.

Talking to retiree many years ago, I asked him if he missed anything about work. He told me that feeling of getting off for the weekend after a long work week. I can see that, but I think I could manage.

The best part of being a retired boomer? Collecting my boomer welfare paid for by the millenials

Good thing they’ll never be able to retire

I’m almost one year into retirement and I still can’t stop smiling. It’s better than I ever imagined.

Started with nil but a goal of saving / investing money such that it make more money than I did when I turned 45.

Conclusion? Compounding $ (1+k)^n works way faster than bitching does! Do it.

I agree. Sunday is the best now. I used to start planning / worrying / thinking about the upcoming work week right around 6:00 pm on Sunday nights. That pit in my stomach is gone and I now enjoy my Monday mornings.
