We are being deceived by cult politics...

For a long time now, my politics has been influenced heavily by a mistrust of government. I've been a supporter of the "burn it all down and start over" philosophy, as I see us slowly sliding into depravity and Idiocracy seems more and more likely to where we are headed.
This past year has done nothing to change my views, as all of the waste and fraud that we saw with DOGE and how the status quo defended the indefensible. Is anybody surprised by all the waste and fraud we found in MN? Will anybody be surprised by how much waste and fraud we find in CA? or NY, or any of the 58 states?
I have always supported releasing the Epstein files, but realized that it is just being politicized, as well. Now we have Eric Swalwell, who apparently has done some things that were so bad, that he is being forced to resign. However, I have no doubts that he will never serve jail time, as I'm sure that was part of his deal to resign and NOT expose what he knows about other Congressmen. Again, Swalwell is not the issue. It's the fact that he will be protected, because the powers that be cannot allow the first domino to topple.
The whole point of this is that Washington, DC is a cesspool of corruption, and bribes and blackmail are the grease that keeps it running. We have two cults in charge and we are being forced to choose between the two if we want to participate in our governance.
Our government has run for years with the main issues being abortion, border reform, the deficit, LGBT issues, and the economy. It is becoming increasingly obvious that while we have been distracted and emotionally triggered by those issues, our bureaucrats in DC (elected and unelected) have continued to consolidate wealth and power using our tax money. The needle never moves on the above mentioned issues because they are not meant to be solved. They are just the distraction to keep us from noticing the corruption, waste, and fraud. And in the case of Swalwell, the sexual depravity.
A lot of people hate Donald Trump because he is a disrupter. He sees problems in the government and he does what he can to solve them and doesn't care how many powerful people he pisses off or how many gravy trains he cuts off. I hope his influence continues long after he is gone, because whether you like his style or not, he is shining the light on a lot issues that are never talked about in the media or the halls of Congress.

Swalwell will definitely see jail time unless he decides to take the coward route and off himself. Between the mortgage fraud, campaign fraud, and sexual assault/ rape charges he will be facing, jail is a certainty. We have too much momentum on the fraud and abuse built-up for the guilty ones to never see jail time.

This is where I'm at, too. Overall I'm pretty happy with what Trump has done and what he wants to accomplish. I just wish the man could ditch the propensity toward making really dumb social media gaffes. Like so many people, he gets emotional and posts about it for the world to see, when we'd all do ourselves more of a service by just thinking before we decide whether or not to post.

I sort of have an issue with someone, who has publicly stated that his/her loyalties are with another country instead of the one he/she lives, being able to donate to politicians.

I hear ya Revalator... but, the fact remains that DC is all about politics. Trump has to walk a fine line in order to get anything accomplished. Unfortunately, this necessitates him having to remain friendly with some folks that probably don't share his vision for America, but he needs their cooperation.
I'd never want to be part of that spider web and I'd be a terrible politician. Lol
