What an absolute waste of space of a human being and shame on New York for letting this wolf in the front door.

His hope is that when these people inevitably list these properties, no one buys them allowing for him to seize them.

What's the commie clown going to do, build a wall around NYC to keep his tax victims in?

I have some friends who live there still. Brainwashed. They don’t seem to realize the guillotine is aimed at them. Go to the hamptons, have fun. The savages won’t come for you because you “support them” - TDS in live action
They will realize too late their mistake, but that’s theirs to make. This nation is in a spiritual war of what it will be. A nation of H1Bs and illegals, or a nation of Americans. Kick them all the frick out, dragging and screaming if necessary. America is for Americans.

There is a scene in The Madison series that characterizes how nyc dwellers lives. A daughter of a wealthy family is out shopping and is mugged in broad daylight on a crowded street. She reaches out to the cops who do nothing as she is afraid to describe the assailant description to the black officer. Everyone just goes about their lives like nothing happened, no different than the real life versions of subway assaults

Possibly the greatest example of a dumb slogan actually working to screw everyone over and over again.
We have several examples of how "tax the rich" has grown, very quickly, to tax them all. The masses still fall for it every time.

Not sure that this tax can be applied constitutionally. Pretty sure from a fed standpoint it is not lawful but dont know from a state standpoint.
Any experts on here care to opine?
To be honest, wish they all left NY and the buildings become vacant.

Such a punchable face. If I was around in when he said that, I might have to hit him.
Im not rich by any stretch of the imagination, but make just enough money to get screwed every April.
This mindset of taking money from the rich just because is a sickness that is being taught to this young generation. The daughter of a friend is 21. She hates rich people and thinks that it’s the government’s job to take their wealth and redistribute it to them.

The 16th Amendment, for example.

I’m sure there are some who don’t gaf, but there are plenty who do. $5 million isn’t all that expensive for a nice place in NYC. Bear in mind that these people are already pay property taxes. Without a homestead exemption I might add. Just watch—this BS tax will end up providing zero additional revenue for the city. It may end up a net drain on revenue.

He is a total scum bag and smug bastard but this isn’t even his tax proposal it was proposed by the Governor. And, it is an incredibly stupid and misguided idea.

I don’t understand how it’s unfair to working New Yorkers if someone out of town owns a $238 million penthouse. What’s the difference if someone lives there or not?
Is it that they think a “working New Yorker” could better fill that $238 million space?
So you seize it, and turn it into a tenement. Okay. Who’s paying your special tax to fund the whole city now?
Typical commie gobbledygook.

He may own that penthouse, but the CEO claims residency in a state like Florida where he has an even larger house that is a third of the price and has operations in a low tax state like Texas.
The penthouse is just a prize that he uses few times a year and lets his family or special clients stay there instead of staying at a hotel or if a kid is going to college in New York City.
Only tax he pays is property taxes and sales tax when he spends money for things in NYC. He cannot work there because NYC and NY State have some squirrelly laws that tax work like athletes are taxed if they spend one day there.
I remember Rush bitching about that anytime he hosted a show from the NYC studios instead of his home base in Florida.
