In a recent interview with the Associated Press (AP), the comedian revealed that he's begun to reconsider bringing back Chappelle's Show, a shift from where he stood not long ago. "If you'd asked me that question a year ago, I'd have told you absolutely not," Chappelle said. "But in the last few weeks … I'm considering it."
Please, let it happen!

It would be an instant hit! Just hope he doesn't go back to comedy central and does it on his own or somewhere where they won't censor him.

It would obviously be on Netflix. And if bet they'd pay him that $50M be walked away from 20 yrs ago.
Problem is, old, scratch-voiced Dave is nowhere near as funny a young, skinny, high-pitched Dave.

How about no. Dave is an angry old man now, seems bitter and resentful. He needs to just go away.
If his show comes back, its going to be pure progressive insanity.

No Charlie Murphy, no care.

Sad but true
Watching those old stand up specials ("that light turned green and Chip TOOK OFF!"), his voice and delivery were so perfect. That same energy came thru in the show (Clayton Bigsby, etc).
His new specials have good jokes but I have a feeling it will be closer to his SNL skits -- slow, heavy on politics, and applauded because of his name moreso than the landing of the jokes

Is he doing it to fight fascism?

If you call the original show censored, I'm ok with it.

Chappelle barely puts effort into his standup these days. I would not trust that the new show would be worth a shite

Nah don’t do it, Dave
The hype would be unreal and the show would never live up to it

Agreed. In his older stuff there's a sense of just having fun with topics. There was no going hard in the paint for social narrative, just finding the funny in things.
Today's Dave has moved into the role of a sage or truth-teller. The idea isn't so much to entertain, but to attempt to fix or express society/social ills through humor and sarcasm.
For example, I can't see today's Dave doing the slow-motion skit.

It would be a huge payday so I can see it happening but I think it would pale compared to the original. It might have moments here and there but Chapelle has an entirely different vibe these days.

Man, it all hinges on who he gets to write with him, and who he puts in front of the camera with him. Will he choose the role of the sane one like in half baked, or the crazy one, like in the Clayton Bigsby (Black white supremicist) bit?
My point is that it'll be different from his stand up. If Netflix gives him free reign, it could be terrible. If they give him a producer credit and tell him to make the best sketch show possible, not neccessarily the best Chappelle Show possible, it could be an all time great.

I'd be down. The bidding war would be insane, $50 million would be peanuts compared to what Hulu/Netflix/HBO/Paramount would offer.

It's possible that it will suck. But I don't get the negativity. Dave is still the GOAT IMO and has a great mind for jokes and punchlines that you never see coming. I'm all for getting more episodes of one of the best sketch comedy shows ever...There's nothing to lose here and everything to gain as an audience member.

Man, as much as I loved that show I just don't think it would be the same. Not sure it would hit the same as it did back in the day.

That's very possible, but there is an open market for a good, non-PC sketch comedy show. SNL was never quite that, but they were at least pretty edgy at times. Today, not so much. The people are begging for a good comedy series. I'll keep an open mind and hope for the best.

I agree there's a market for it, but I feel like often times with shows like this, the reboots are never as good as the original. To be fair, even if it's only half as good, it'll still be funny as hell.
While we're at it, I wish they'd bring back MadTV with the OG cast.

Chappelle's show can never be recreated. The first two seasons were great, but by season 3 he was already pretty much done. The lost episodes that released all sucked.
