HB965 says that all of Virginia’s Electoral College votes will go to the winner of the national popular vote, no matter who wins the popular vote in our Commonwealth.

Democrats REALLY, REALLY, hate voters. Why else would they vote to suppress the will of the people?

Wow, she just took a dump on the people who elected her. Unfortunately they’ll cheer the move because of their stupidity.

Civil War is coming.

So essentially, Virginia voters’ votes don’t matter, but the votes of all other 49 states do. Seems backwards.

1. Only once the long existing potential compact goes "online".

2. Will be smacked down with the quickness.

3. "Introduced in 2006, as of April 2026, it was joined by eighteen states and the District of Columbia. They have 222 electoral votes, which is 41% of the Electoral College and 82% of the 270 votes needed to give the compact legal force. The idea gained traction amongst scholars after George W. Bush won the presidential election but lost the popular vote in 2000," (wiki)

4. Would be funny considering the "fake elector" BS... this would be fake electors.

Likely unconstitutional.

Issue regarding compacts of states as well as the due process rights of a state's voters.

No fricking way founders/ratifiers intended for a state to tie its electoral votes to the votes of other states.

Here is my question about this idiocy. Who certifies the national popular vote? Where is the agency responsible for this? The official federal (since its all states) records for this?

Or is all this depending on how the media reports results?

Also there is zero chance this is remotely constitutional.

I’m trying to figure out their rationale if it is unconstitutional. Why would you even do this work?

It absolutely seeks to change the electoral system as outlined in the constitution AND stands to disenfranchise entire voting majorities of the several states.

It was a democrat hissy fit that will never come to fruition. It's as retarded, if not moreso, than Biden's "amendment" he unilaterally tried to enact.

Scratch off going to Virginia to campaign.

There is no need.

This will backfire and it will be spectacular when it does.

They could have made this bill much simpler by saying their electoral votes go with CA, NY and IL.

It's not. It's virtue signalling to their pure democracy stance because they hate the electoral college.

They constantly bitch about senate representation and wyoming having 2 senators, same as california. They never mention Delaware and vermont have the same as texas and florida

They are really going to ramp it up later, because state balkanization and the census is going to favor Republicans bigly in the future.

There's scenarios where Republicans run the senate for decades and decades.

Part of the reason they hate ICE so much. They need warm bodies, legal or not, in blue states because they are losing population really really quickly

In fact, if you run the projected 2032 electoral projection map, winning the presidency for Republicans might only need georgia/arizona.

Arizona Republican registration is blowing up, right now.

Dems also have 2 major problems to go with it. Their boomer base, the ones that go to every protest are dying off and their younger women are not having kids.
