YouTube is a hellscape of garbage

So I happened to see in my suggestions a video on the non-cannon unincluded books of the Bible, looked rather interesting. I clicked the link and discovered instantly that the entire video is just AI garbage. An AI voice reading an AI generated summary while AI generated video plays. Disgusted I immediately close it.
I'm now interested in the topic so I search for more videos, hoping to find a legit one from a semi reputable channel, after all, surely many actual people or organizations have made videos on that topic.
Search results: Page after page of AI trash or completely unrelated shite. Not s single real video made by an actual person on the topic, when surely hundreds if not thousands of those exist.
The site is completely unusable to find or discover anything of actual value. Even if you seek out something specifically you can't find it.
Unless you have a direct link to a channel or video, the site is basically just a gigantic morass of shite.
The near unanimous opinion is that YouTube is significantly worse in every way over the past decade. It's shite on purpose.
We need an updated guaranteed list:
Death, taxes, and enshittification of technology.

it's a huge problem. youtube is a treasure trove of amazing content, but for every well made engaging video there are 5-10 horrible ones on the same topic. AI slop and low effort content creators.

idk dude, i watched a video on how to drill and tap the spark plug on my cylinder head while it was installed on my truck. knocked it out in an evening with the help of youtube, a 6 pack of miller lite, and pack of lip pillys

This is true but the problem is Youtube has made ii intentionally harder to do that.
Any platform that has user generated content most of the content is bad so you have to have good tools to help people find the quality stuff.
Youtube has intentionally gone the other way, they go out of their way to show you what is most profitable to them rather than what you are actually looking for. You wasting an hour to find what you are looking for makes them way more money than if you found it right away. They are incentivized to show you endless trash.

Youtube's search function is trash. Search for what you want on Google, then click the YouTube link that pops up.
