Lewiston was 1% black in 2000. Then the Somalis came in the early 2000s and now it is at least 14% black. I wonder if Lewiston residents had a say in such a transformation of their city.

I look at it like this. If you can come into this country, assimilate, and become an American (vis a vis - an actual, English speaking, American flag waving patriot), pay your bills, leave everybody alone, I'm good with it. I'm even fine with letting a mosque go up here or there. I worship, you worship, etc. Freedom of Religion. Respect this? I'm down.
But the problem is that Islam is not rooted in that. Islam is rooted in "You have to become a Muslim or we have to kill you." That's it.

Maine is a weird one. They’ve gone Democrat in the last nine presidential elections, but it’s often close. Harris beat Trump 52% to 45%. The last Republican to take Maine was Bush the Elder. The governor is a Dem.
But it’s also pretty conservative on 2nd Amendment stuff. Constitutional Carry - meaning no permit required for owning or carrying a firearm - and also has a “no duty to retreat” if inside your home. No magazine capacity limitations or “assault weapon” bans. I think they have a lot of avid outdoorsmen and hunters.
I can confidently say this old tow truck baw voted for Trump.

I work with a young man who is Muslim and he will be quick tell anyone that the US isn't for everyone back home.
