I know this is out of the box but makes sense I think!!

Midweek > Evans (Get a Win)
Game 1 SEC > ??
Game 2 SEC > Schmidt
Game 3 SEC > Cowan/Moore when he returns or someone else starting!!

Game 1 is a Johnny Wholestaff??

14 wins if we can go 3-1 each week!

I know this wont happen!

Just trying to see the Tigers win more.

Disregarding the idiocy of Wholestaffing a Friday game, starting Evans on a midweek is no guaranteed win either. He has been so Jekyl and Hyde this year, he looks like an All-American one week then looks like he needs his scholarship stripped the next.

I am not saying do this. However the Tigers need wins and fast. Panic should be setting in. I want to see us get in post season. Right now, we probably will not!

Winning the mid week game isn't going to help get us to the post season. We need to win 2 out of 3 on the weekends and now need to swee South Carolina.

You gotta win mid week games at this point! Its as important as SEC games!

I knew this was going to be a fun thread from the title. Didn’t disappoint.

Idk if you really want to witness that. Because there is a legit possibility that this LSU team couldn’t get a win against NSU even with Evans starting. These guys are beyond atrocious in midweek games.

Winning a mid week game is sort of irrelevant. Some coaches in the past don't throw their ace on Friday with hopes that if you have to give up a game, that is the one, then throwing your ace and 2nd ace of Sat. / Sun. Problem with this team is it's not all on the pitcher for the losses. The field is cr@pping the bed and not giving the pitching a chance to get a win.

This is just stupid.

If you wish to
Move Evans from Friday you move him to Sunday .
Here is the reasoning-
Evans can be absolutely notable, or he can walk the bases full quickly. When he is pitching on a Friday, you hesitate to pull him because you don’t want to run out of pitching for Sunday.

If you start him Sunday and he is on, great, let him eat… if he is off, you already know how much staff you have available and you can keep him on a shorter leash.

It is all between the ears. These guys want to win but don't have the real push to actually win, they don't seem to have the real want to. I watched the bull pen the last few games and most of the time there was no concentration about the actual game, just seems to be kids playing with their toys.

I’d let Fontenot start midweek games. Let Sheerin be a Sunday starter until Moore is fully healthy. He is the only pitcher that seems to self correct and not self destruct if he makes a mistake. He’s got that moxie and competitive edge that we are missing in a lot of our players too.

I dont think there is some great answer. But here is what id do, id try to get as many pitchers in comfortable roles for them as possible. That means im making evans my first big bullet out of the pen, even if its the 4th/5th inning. He is nails from the pen. Guidry is back to late innings of close games, 1 or 2 innings max.
Schmidt is giving you a great chance every saturday minus this past one. Im keeping him there. Im starting moore when he comes back on game 1s. Hopefully he can get the ball to evans in a tight game. If not evans can be used saturday. Sunday, im starting cowan, no questions asked. I could easily switch moore and cowan in these scenarios. The goal for me overall is getting pitchers where they are comfortable. If moore misses another week, id bet on talent and throw paz on there to start sundays.

No more starting fontenot or guidry or any other reliever that doesnt have a chance of giving us 4 innings

Seems most of our pitchers can only be steady for a few innings before they start throwing crazy shite!
