They were warned not to screen The Northman.

They just started requiring mobile phone ordering for food and drinks, which is the exact opposite of their core values. Such a shame. Used to be the best theater chain. I would refuse to go to others often. Now, I rarely go.

To the People of Texas & All Americans in the World-

Fellow Citizens & compatriots-

I am besieged, by a thousand or more of the Basketball Americans - The enemy has demanded a surrender at discretion, otherwise, the moviegoers are to be slammed to the curb, if the theater is taken - I have answered the demand with a popcorn shot, & our flag still waves proudly from the walls - I shall never surrender or retreat.

Then, I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid, with all dispatch - The enemy is receiving reinforcements & will no doubt increase to three or four thousand in four or five days.

If this call is neglected, I am determined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a concessions employee who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his theater - Victory or Death

I'm pretty sure that's not an Alamo in Texas. I've never been to one (SA, DFW, HOU) that puts concessions in the lobby like that, except for the bar. The one in Houston just turned into Flix Brewhouse, but I knew it was over long ago.

For decades, the "not talk no text" trailer was followed by a, "you'll get kicked out without a refund." Hundreds of movies it's been the same. For Bad Boyz 4 Life (I was bored, it was a matinee,) it mysteriously changed to if you misbehave, we'll stop selling you alcohol. No threat of being booted.

Was it “shocking” though?
Was it?

Unless its a similar setting, I think this is an older video (older has in months, maybe a year or two older). It doesn't justify the behavior, but there seems to be the practice of recycling videos by posting them as if they are current.

Yeah I’ve never seen an a Alamo with concessions like that. I went to the new Flix in Katy. It was fine. Menu seemed more basic.

The change in ordering is damnable. Now you give every asshat an excuse to pull out their phone. It's dim as shite, which means old bastards like me have to bring readers or jack up the brightness on our phones to try to type shite. I used to just write my drink order on two or three order cards before the lights went down, QED.

You might be right, yet I only post stuff I have not seen or posted before. Maybe you can sort through hundereds of millions of these videos and give us a "first added to internet" date. That would be sweet.

Google reverse image search can do it for stills, but not videos. To be fair, Martin Lawrence posted about this shite in a special in 2013.

Slight hijack. It never ceases to amaze me Travis was only 26 years old when he wrote that letter. He was just a kid and had more balls than many men in history twice his age

Theaters are a dying breed due to the shitty writing coming out of Hollywood for the last decade (social justice lecturing and casting rather than good story and merit) as well as more options for streaming, while also increasing costs for the movies (which theaters have to pass on through higher food/snacks/beverages).

Alamo has basically shut down around here. I think Flix is the new name. Anyway my son went to a 9:30 showing at the local AMC last night. He checks in safe!
