Today the high is 82 degrees. According to my Apple weather app, this is 6 degrees higher than whatever the "average" is. So I plugged into Gemini the highs in New Orleans for April 11 every 10 years.

April 11:
2016 79 degrees
2006 82 degrees
1996 82 degrees
1986 84 degrees

Granted, these are the only times I measured, but the math aint mathin here.

Are you implying South Louisiana hasn't always been hot?

It’s always been a hoax. They are crying about the lack of snow in CO, but the North East had a record ski season and it’s still going.

Supposed to be a below average hurricane season. How will they reconcile that?

Its not mathin because that is not how their average was factored

When they say higher than normal activity they are generally wrong. I’m now wondering if they are wrong again when they say below average storms

So what? Earth’s temperatures have been cyclic for millions of years. Isn’t it nice to be alive when it’s warmer? I hate the cold! Go swimming!

too soon old sport. We must pay our pittance so we appreciate that first snap of cool. And hopefully it's here in time for the Washington Parish Free Fair.

No, he’s not. He’s clearly making a circumstantial case that past temperatures contradict the “it’s six degrees hotter than average” weather channel.

It’s called weather, if you don’t like it just wait, it will change.

So, in 1996, it was the same temp. It went down 3 degrees 20 years later. What are we to make of that? This is typical spring weather in the deep South.

Oh no, If it’s not average then it must be bad. 6 degrees? We’re doomed. Net zero to the rescue, well, not really, but maybe it makes people feel better they’re paying 10 dollars a gallon because they’re energy dependent.

Well laid out case, maybe it’s not a hoax after all.

It's not just the heat. When I moved from New Iberia to Shreveport for college I always laughed when classmates complained that the humidity had reached 50%.

We can only dream of 50% humidity on a typical day.
