And so long as the fighting continues, that trial is on hold. This guy here is a journo for Reuters and there is an article discussing this on Reuters, but here is the gist.

quote:

Halt to Iran attacks means Netanyahu's corruption trial will resume on Sunday

(Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's long-running corruption trial will resume on Sunday, the courts' spokesperson said on Thursday, after Israel lifted a state of emergency imposed over its war with Iran.

The emergency, which had closed schools and workplaces, was lifted on Wednesday evening as no incoming Iranian missiles had been reported since 3 a.m. (midnight GMT) after a ceasefire was agreed.

"With the lifting of the state of emergency and the return of the judicial system to work, hearings will resume as usual," a statement from the Israeli courts said, adding that they would take place between Sundays and Wednesdays

Also, in before some shill tries to drag this thread into the mud and make it about racism by throwing out the "joooo" word. This isn't about that.

So what do we think, folks? Will Netanyahu actually allow a ceasefire to last long enough for his own corruption trial to take place, or will he continue to bomb Lebanon and keep an emergency declaration in place, thereby delaying his own trial?

Reuters Article written by same dude as in the X post

It will be interesting to see if the ceasefire holds long enough for his trial to resume.

Doubtful

He just said they're going to continue strikes in Lebanon

The Iranians are talking shite about seeking revenge for Khamenei and saying they have missiles ready to launch (at God knows what this time)

Given that he was launching missiles at Lebanon within minutes of this becoming public I'm gonna go with no.

He cannot stay forever. If he's guilty may so be the verdict. If innocent then free. Otherwise don't give a shite.

I don't give a shite when the trial started. It's set to resume on Sunday. It's a very simple question, do you think the ceasefire will hold long enough for the trial to resume, or will he end up declaring another state of emergency thereby delaying his trial even longer?

Netanyahu is responsible for more deaths in the world than any other political leader for the past 20 years, he should be on trial for war crimes.

I have no doubt that he will try some sort of sleazy political maneuver to get out of this corruption trial.

You're acting like the six years of trial means nothing. Where were all of his evil machinations to start other wars to delay the trial the last six years?

It'll start again, and then get paused again when Iran does Iranian shite.

I have no idea why we continue to fight on this rogue's behalf, and that of his completely secular war-obsessed state, which not only openly rejected Jesus as their Saviour but discriminates against Christians in their country. What does America get from them other than Hannity's Sodastream and halvah-flavored pirouline wafers?

The courts are angry he took their power away.

We need to do the same here.

I don't know what you're talking about. I am the farthest thing from being pro Netanyahu. Always have been. Just because I support the US's decision to bomb Iran doesn't mean I'm some sort of Israeli sympathizer.

I want the US to finish the Iranian regime off and then pull out of the region entirely.
