Is this a movie or a series?

Not sure, but it looks like a movie to me.

It’s a “television special” which is fancy talk for straight to D+ movie. That should be no knock on its quality though. From what I read, it was Bernthal’s idea and he co-wrote it with the director. They had previously worked together on the HBO limited series We Own This City.

Not mad at it, Marvel should do more things like this.

It'll probably help setup his involvement in Spiderman as well.

Werewolf by Night was very well received. I thought it would lead to more stuff like this but it really hasn't.

So where was Frank the last time we saw him in a D+ show! I don’t just mean location, but like wasn’t he assumed dead by society at large after the Daredevil show?

Based on how much Disney has ruined Daredevil, I have no faith in this

The world needs more Bernthal as The Punisher... and less Yellowstone

He's alive and well in Daredevil: Born Again.

They talked about being rid of the skull logo because dudes liked it, and dudes are toxic or whatever

So when I saw it in it's glory, my interest went to 11

SPOILERS BELOW

I definitely didn't see him among the escapees from Red Hook. Was he off camera, or is he somewhere else?

It’s a mid-credits scene for the final episode of season 1.

Disney making The Punisher content is just ridiculous.

One last kill?

Why not make it a Bambi‘s revenge movie?

* Trailer looks proper dark & gritty. Again, Netflix level, but not Disney.

The logo popping up at the very end just seems out of place.

Last one I remember was Werewolf by Night, which was very good. I was hoping it would become a yearly thing for Halloween, but Disney fumbled that.

This is going to be unpopular, and I know that Bernthal truly loves and respects this character, but I honestly believe someone else could do it better. He was pretty good in daredevil, and the first season of The Punisher was serviceable as well, just think the franchise needs a fresh face.

They probably should have gone w/MCU TV movies instead of full on TV series w/their MCU shows. It would have made for tighter scripts and mitigated keeping up w/the continuity feeling like such a slog.

I'll never not laugh at The Punisher being on Disney.
