I am cooking for 11 dumbasses and two other more seasoned dumbasses (me and another dad), so 13 in total at Spring Break tomorrow. I usually cook a pound for my family of 5 with leftovers but I don't really know if I could feed another five on the same pot. TIA

Cook 2 lbs? I don’t really have any other suggestions nor do suspect there are any.

This is truly white woman level planning. Wait until a holiday to figure out what you need to get at the store for tomorrow. Bravo.

It seems like you answered your own question with the math and assumptions in your own post.

Cook 3 pounds, they are cheap, and reheat well

A pound of dry beans makes 8 cups of cooked beans. Take it from there.

There’s your data, no just do the math.

If 1 pound =8 cups cooked, that’s 64 ounces of cooked beans per pound.

Figure 12 oz of cooked beans over rice per serving. So, 1 pound = 5.33 servings.

Your original assumption of 5 people per 1 pound is correct.

Cook 3 pounds.

Not sure how old you are but here is ProTip for life. Don't make stupid ASSumptions! I am a male, which if you could read should have been clear. I have 4 damn pounds of Camelias and Verons Andouille because I wasn't sure if i could get them in P'cola. I was just asking for input and you have none...but you just couldn't help chiming in. Cute.

If the 11 dumbasses are teenagers on spring break, your most pressing matter is figuring out how many cans of febreeze you need in each room.

Then cook all 4 lbs. Drunk kids will eat them for several days. And if they don’t you only wasted $2

Sorry for any perceived abruptness in my reply to whoever that was. I should have been clearer. My normal five is three slight women/girls, a teen boy and me. Not representative of 11 teen boys so that was my question; i should have been more explicit. The math says 3 pound is safe. And goodness me Walmart was open on this holiday weekend and i got some hocks.

I would go 4 lbs with a hefty dose of seasoning ham and sausage.

I vac seal individual bags for leftover and literally can not tell they are leftover. Make some fresh rice!

Two pounds dry beans. Five pounds sausage. Put a pack of ham hocks in there. Not everyone will eat the hamhocks.

Lawd! I ended up at 3 lbs beans, 2lb andouille, 3 hocks and the bone of a spiral cut ham. Fed my 13 and then some stragglers.
