On Tuesday, Lola Lampley’s older sister, Jaylah, announced her intention to enter the transfer portal when it opens on April 6. The 6-1 combo guard spent her freshman season at Mississippi State where she averaged 8.3 points on 50% shooting along with 4.7 rebounds per game.

We don't need any more guards.

Need one more to replace Flaujae, preferably a combo who can shoot lights out from 3 and play great defense. Someone who adds firepower right now and a lockdown defender. Talaysia Cooper from Tennessee would fit the bill, but she’d have to be willing to share minutes.

Another route would be a point guard like Mia Pauldo, who’d also have to be willing to share time with Jada and Milaysia but would be a good investment for when they graduate. Also think they definitely need a strong 5 to face off with the likes of Okot (she might get another year), Vukosa, and Okeke.

Also need a strong 4-5 for depth with Grace Knox. It would be nice if Olivia Edward’s follows Gabe to LSU since all of the other Vols have fled the country. There are enough 5 stars entering the portal that can put LSU over the hump with UCONN, SC, and Texas.

I think it's pretty obvious that Lola's older sister is gonna try to come to LSU....................if it's not already a done deal. But we really do need 2-3 post players this transfer portal cycle.

Definitely need another guard. Richard, Fulwiley and Williams start more than likely. Hines off the bench, with no Bourrage you need another guard off the bench as Lampley is more a 3/4.

Remember we also lost Gilbert who I think was a critical loss to this team this year, unless her issue is resolved and she's asks for another season. You definitely need at least 1 more guard, maybe 2.

and those 3 won't be taking anything less than 5's either. We are stuck firmly behind behind those 3 and I don't see LSU adding anything to help overtake them, HOPE I AM WRONG

It will be interesting to see if Fullwiley starts. She will get plenty of minutes ,regardless, but has been good coming off the bench. She is one of the toughest players to guard in the nation, so it is not a question on her talent. She seems to have the green light on offense whenever she enters the game.

I think it's more of process if elimination thing, who do you start over her? I love Hines play but unless she takes jump over the summer I think she might not be starter quality til mid way thru SEC but it's going to happen. Behind that are no other guards.

The alternative is playing Richard, moving Williams to the 2 and Zakiyah at the 3 (her natural spot) then Knox and Koval or transfer big.

We for sure will see that lineup during the year but I think Johnson has to take a big leap on her outside shooting and ball handling to get there. She's got a 2/3 body with a 4 skill set.

All four games with tose teams were right down to the end and winnable with another play or two. It wouldn't take much to flip the switch. The young players received valuable experience in those games and in the NCAA tournament that will serve them well. Kim said the only portal departure is Burrage so they will be a load the next couple of seasons.

You realize that the gap between LSU and those 3 is pretty damn narrow, right? UConn is losing Strong and Fudd I do believe. UCLA has to be losing Betts. I feel like she's been there for a decade now. South Carolina has 5 seniors. It might be between Texas and LSU next year.

Strong is only a sophomore. And nothing in recent history suggests South Carolina is going to fall down a peg. Until we show we can beat some of these teams in March, I'm going to be skeptical.

UCLA will fall back because they're a bunch of seniors built for this season. USC will step up into their place. UCONN and Carolina won't fall off.

As much as I hate to say this and dislike her as queen of the evil empire, you have to give Staley credit. She flat out outcoached Geno last night. Her defense was lights out and up in the face of UCONN players all night and totally disrupted them.

And you have to give her credit for a great coaching job this year since she’s brought them this far without Kitts and Watkins and has had various injuries during the season. She correctly identified Okot and Latson as the necessary new pieces to get her back to this point and was able to outrecruit LSU for Okot.

To think that Okot could possibly return next year- and Kitts and Watkins have chosen to return along with Edward’s returning- it makes SC seem downright scary in the front court next year. This makes landing two strong portal bigs even more critical for LSU. I believe we will have the advantage on the perimeter next year, however.

I believe Kim is the best coach in WBB and we’re so blessed to have her. But you have to admit that Staley has built a machine at SC and just keeps reloading. Like Saban I believe she stacks talent and signs some players just to keep them away from LSU.

Kim has already won some head-to-head recruiting battles, and I believe we’ll see more. She’s only been at LSU 5 years whereas Staley has been at SC 18 years with more time to build. But Kim has already brought LSU basically dead even with SC in a very short time, and I believe she’s making the moves that will put LSU on top next year and for the years following.

I like Kim and am grateful for what she's done for LSU. But nothing in her coaching history suggests she's going to do what SC is doing right now. In her 25+ years of coaching, she's been to the Final 4 only 5 times. SC is there for the 6th year in a row.

This awas always the dumbest comment. No team or coach wastes valuable scholarships to keep the player from signing elsewhere.

thats pretty much what happened 2 years ago when dawn picked up maryam dauda. and dauda has pretty much wasted those 2 years on carolina's bench when she could have been invaluable here!
dawn didnt need her. they won the championship that year. she played about 60 minutes the entire season.

That was my point. She had a plethora of good bigs already when Dauda signed. Adhel Tac at 6-5 has been sitting on the bench for like 3 years.

Saban did it quite a bit when a recruit was down to LSU and Bama and Bama really didn't need them.

It maybe didn't happen that much, but for Saban a lot of recruits were a luxury the way things panned out. He was shrewd enough to prevent the enemy from getting strong in an area that could become a threat to Bama down the road.

well maybe we are only stuck behind 2. texas is shedding players just as fast as tennessee! who know's what that squad will look like next year!

honestly, the entire bottom half of the sec is struggling! for georgia and florida to get rid of their coaches... those schools were really on the cusp of building something. the portal is out of control!

yes, i was agreeing with you. because of the dude that said your comment was dumb.
i also think geno took serah williams from us. she was def the weakest link on that starting squad. way out of her league. she could have THRIVED at lsu this past season.

Yes, I know you were supporting my comment against the guy who called it dumb. Thank you very much!

And I agree one thousand percent about Serah Williams! Wow, did she waste her final year or what? And she didn't even win a championship! Geno didn't need her, and he knew it! Great point!
