Piggbacking off SFP's comments in another thread.

I understand and agree with people's issues with birthright citizenship, and what it encourages. I also think it needs to be closed, fully.

But this power resides with the do nothing shite pieces in Washington DC, both sides.

If they wanted this issue resolved, they'd create a constitutional amendment.

If people want change, force these idiots in Washington to do something about it.

Call your legislators, chew their ears off, daily. Make your voices heard and listened to. This SCOTUS case was never the way to get it closed.

It would need to be a constitutional amendment. Legislation can't override the Constitution

Both sides benefit from illegals.

Dems get warm bodies to vote
Repubs get cheap labor

Neither side wants to do anything about this problem. Plus it only really affects Middle America not the upper echelon of DC

If the courts rule against Trump, we'd need an amendment

Democrats don't want it so you can't go this route.

You have to take an example out of their playbook and get judges to do it.

Didn't work. Oh well. Case closed.

Shouldn't be needed. The constitution doesn't allow for birthright citizenship.

Or fund Homeland Security during the middle of a war with Iran.

They will never do anything that Trump is for until he's out of office.

It's a GD shame, we have a bunch of children running the country who hate one man so much they will vote against everything he suggest just to spite him.

Plus if they don't AOC and the lunatic branch will have them removed from the party.

And if we can’t get a 2/3 vote?

We just keep on being lured towards our own destruction?

The issue can be mitigated by securing the border in the meantime and continuing deportations.

You’re making two false assumptions.

1. That our elections are legitimate, they are not. They’re rampant with fraud. We rarely get the people we elect.

2. That the selected people in Washington DC care what the American people say. They don’t. They are all in o. The fraud and transfer of wealth to them and their cronies.

Isn't 2/3 on Congress needed for a Constitutional Amendment? We would never get 2/3 to vote for it. Not a single Dem would be for it.

I think your point is why there is more anxiety about this issue.

Deep down we know congress cant balance a budget, cant pass real in- house legislation.

Cant do anything but what their lobbyists say and gavel in on passing their COLA raises.

I think SCOTUS will punt it to them and they will do nothing but go on vacation; and hope Trump goes away--- so they dont have to impeach and remove him.

They like the democrats cheating they dont care

So what do you do when they are inept? Voting them out doesn't always work...

We dont have the luxury of time before the democrats get control of the car and run it off the cliff. The replacement theory was real. They want Mamdani.

Do you really want to go down the path of ignoring the Constitution for allegations of exigent dangers to society?

You don't see how this could be an issue with things like gun control, global warming, disinformation, etc?

I am angry at the right people. Folks break laws to do this birthing tourism and there are companies that have made a business out of this. Folks still sneak across the border just to have a child. This is a crime. People also commit visa fraud for the sole purpose of having a baby here. That is also a crime.

Nothing in the constitution says we have to allow this.

We don't have to give children to Diplomats birthright citizenship. That has more to do with the Vienna convention saying they don't fall under the host nations jurisdiction. Not because our constitution says they don't fall under our jurisdiction. So we can ignore the Constitution because of international law.

We already do ignore it. Our constitution says those diplomats children are citizens. International law says, not so fast.
