Both 3-6 in conference? Both teams were once mega elite. For the ULL fans here what's been the big change for softball especially?

Glasco left for Texas Tech when he knew we had zero money to help him get over the hump to the CWS. Hell…I think at that time, he even warned the administration several of the girls from our team whom he recruited were about to bolt for NIL if we couldn’t come up with the cash.

Well…we couldn’t come up with the cash. Glasco left and all his recruits except Sam Landry (who went to OU) followed him.

So we hired Habetz who had been at Alabama for a longtime and folks in Acadiana loved, for good reason. However, she had zero HC experience, and we might have half a peanut shell and a $5 Pizza Village coupon to offer for NIL.

So basically in SB especially money just over took the tradition and infrastructure that y'all had built?

Sad times.

I wasn't expecting it on the baseball side. Matt Deggs was the perfect slam dunk hire to replace Robe.

I still think he's an amazing coach just shocked that the results haven't been better. (I know 3 tournaments is nothing to laugh at but I thought he'd be contending to be in the top 16 every single year.)

NIL changed alot man. The Cajuns just don't have the financial support on that front to be what they were under TR.

True but to have a weekend where ULM sweeps softball at home and baseball wins 2 of 3 at ULL has nothing to do with NIL. No one is more poor than ULM.

And then just went through the All American list and bought all the underclassmen this past offseason.

They beat LSU midweek and checked out. They won their championship.

Wasn't ULL ranked in the top 25 like two weeks ago? Guess they started losing a bunch.

Looking like the same path the Lady Techsters basketball program went on. Another also ran.

Softball is straight lack of NIL funds. Cajuns have the history because no other programs in the south cared about softball. Not to diminish our program and historically great teams because those CWS teams were legit. But when you have Bama, Oklahoma, Texas, etc. start really trying and commiting to NIL for softball it was over nationally for the Cajuns softball team.

For Baseball under Deggs we have been solid the past 6 years. Last year sucked, but in 2024 we made it to the regional championship and was ranked most of the year.

This year when we started 16-5 and were ranked in 3/4 major polls our pitching was on fire and we won a ton of close games even though our hitting was still bad. Now our pitching has been average as of lately and we are 18-11 now.

2-6 in our last 8 is no bueno. Can turn it around this weekend, but starting 3-6 in conference play is not the best.

Yet spent 60 million +, on a football stadium that wasn't being filled anyway.

Brilliant!

She only went to OU after Glasco dropped $1 million per year on another pitcher (canady)

Crazy that softball has gotten to that level of NIL payments

Like most smaller schools they re-organized the stadium into a back-slapping club full of premium seats and luxury boxes where the money people can talk during each game -- coincidentally that's the same people who paid for the stadium!
