What's the Scariest shite that has ever happened to you?

I used to work on offshore oil rigs. The generators that power them are the size of a small house. One day a technician forgot to lock out;tag out while he was checking why we were having voltage drops on the pump floor. A supervisor came by and saw the third generator was off and decided to fire it up. I was in the room trying to find a replacement pump sensor when it clicked. Boom pop zap. I saw a human explode, turn to plasma, then carbonize. The sound and and smell never leave.

Mushy shite aside like not knowing if my wife was gonna make it through the birth of our first:
Ran across someone poaching on private land and he started shooting his rifle at me from about 100yds. Running tree to tree hearing the rounds hit trees around me was not something I’d like to do again. He won. Scared me off and he was never caught.
ETA: Robbed at gunpoint once too. That’s second place

Lost cabin pressure in a private plane.

Probably the plant explosions. Scary shite. Glad to be done with that phase of life
Staring down the barrel of a .45 with a drunk belligerent a-hole on the other end wasn't fun either.
Glad to be done with that too

Last week a dump truck wasn’t paying attention and started to merge into my lane while I was between him and an 18 wheeler
Thought for hours after that there was an extremely low chance I would’ve survived that one

Retired fire/ems. Was venting a hole in a roof at a house fire and roof collapsed a couple minutes later. I was young and just following orders. Got trapped once in an attic and couldn’t move. I couldn’t see either and panicked a little but calmed down. My airpack was tangled in wires and I couldn’t see anything because of smoke and dark attic.

Well I’ve not experienced shite like that. wtf
Caught in a thunderstorm in a helicopter. Not fun.
Couple of boating accidents. No one hurt just scary situations. Fell out both times. Everything worked out.

Uh, ok, coming in hot.
I was on the Kennedy expressway in Chicago doing 70 when a semi didn't see me and changed lanes directly into my back left quarter panel. I felt the car jerk violently sideways and suddenly was being pushed down the expressway sideways pinned to the front of a semi. Looked to my left and all I saw was semi grill. Immediately turned the wheel all the way to the left and essentially "backed off" of him and was able to keep control in the lane to the right and make my way to the shoulder. Probably the most impressive driving I've ever done in my life.
ETA: Insurance totaled the car so I was able to level up on my ride

On my way back to college I was driving on a two-lane highway in Mississippi at night in the late 90s. Met a car from the opposite direction without its lights on and I gave it one quick flash. I saw brake lights in my rearview mirror, so I floored it and once I was up over the next hill, I turned off onto a dirt road and cut my lights off. I watched in my rearview mirror as some headlights turned the corner, but they turned around and left.

Started dating a 10/10. About a month in the crazy began to show itself. Found out she is heavily medicated for being crazy, been in therapy for years, etc. She went off the rails at my house one night to the point that I was scared to sleep in the same room as her. Wake up on the coach at like 3am and she naked on top of me, hours after threatening to throw a lit match in to my sock drawer as she's locked herself in my bedroom. None of that is the scary part.
The scary part was breaking it off, and her saying that I can do whatever I want, but we've got a child on the way. She then sends me an ultrasound picture. Talk about the relief I felt when I image searched "ultrasound picture" and she'd picked the first one that popped up.
She's been in and out of jail for domestic battery a few times since.

beach trip a few years back and got in a car with a drunk chick to get more liquor, and she pulled out on the wrong side of the highway and she swerved and missed two cars head on...

Car crash. Was on the interstate under construction down to one lane. 18 wheeler lost its load of lumber in front of me and crashed into the barricade. I hit the lumber and lost control. Luckily I was able to squeeze through between the truck and the barricade. I was a couple of feet away from being decapitated.

That time I died. Meeting St. Peter was pretty surreal.
But in all seriousness, probably not the number one moment, but a really scary one:
It was 2:00am in the French Quarter during Essence Fest. I was there for a batchelor/batchelorette party the night before my oldest friend’s wedding. I’m there with my gf at the time. We’re waiting for an uber to pick us up and take us to our airbnb in the warehouse district, but the rides keep canceling on us. We sit there for a good 30 minutes waiting on rideshares while I watch a certain “crowd” filtering in from the Iberville to the North: loose white t-shirts, pajama pants, trying to hide an obvious gun in the waistband.
After seeing several of these folks who were clearly looking for someone with no good intentions (a different one walking past every couple minutes), I turn to my gf and say “we need to go NOW!” I grab her arm and drag her to power walk the distance back to the airbnb. I even carried her on my back for a while. We got back safe without incident.
The next day, sure enough, we found out there was a mass shooting not 100ft from where we had been standing waiting on ubers not 20 minutes after we left. She thought I was paranoid, but turned out I was justifiably afraid.
