States can’t ban so-called conversion therapy, aimed at changing a minor’s sexual orientation or gender identity, the Supreme Court has ruled.
The justices ruled, 8-1, Tuesday that the First Amendment prohibits states from using their licensing power to limit the topics therapists and other professionals can discuss with their clients.

For those that don't know.

practice that attempts to change an individual's sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to align with heterosexual and cisgender norms.
The headline would've been easy to mistake if folks didn't know the intent of conversion therapy.

Conversion therapy is great for when you’d rather have a dead kid than a gay one.

So, Colorado banned therapists from telling Trans wannabes what going through a transition, etc would entail.
Now, the Supreme Court says that therapists can tell these wannabes what goes on.
Is this correct?

Exactly

anyone doing this to their kid should be jailed for child abuse

This is an example of how the left is winning the language war. “L,” “G,” and “B,” conversion is a hell of a lot different than “T” conversion.

i think you have this backwards, at least in my understanding
conversion therapy is the therapist and doctors essentially discouraging teens and their parents from going through with any type of hormone therapy or surgery.
or at the least its them telling the patients what all it entails.
Conversion therapy is NOT trying to get people to become trans, its the OPPOSITE
now i could have it backwards too but I think i am right and understanding correctly.

This is kind of confusing. So Colorado was allowing therapists to discuss with children, transitioning to a different gender, but not allowing a therapist to discuss with a child why they should consider not doing that?

this whole thread indicates how stupidly confusing the topic is.
Scotus did not address scaple/drug implementation
Scotus did tell Colorado that the state cannot ban a physiologist from talking about the ill effects of actually using the scaple/drug

Y'all are conflating gay and trans issues, per the usual.
This is abusive therapy inflicted upon gay kids by their shitheel parents to pray/beat the "gay" out of them.
From the article:
The case, Chiles v. Salazar, was brought by Kaley Chiles, a licensed counselor who described herself as a practicing Christian who sometimes provides counseling informed by her faith. Chiles said she wished to offer talk therapy to minors who want to reduce feelings of same-sex attraction or feel more comfortable in their bodies.
Chiles isn’t licensed to prescribe medicine or perform surgery, so the ruling does not directly impact states’ power to regulate those sorts of interventions.
KJB's dissent was based on this person not having a license of any sort for this sort of work.
