Cade Arrambide should be available tomorrow according to Jay…

Has been “a little nicked” and was kept out this past weekend as a precaution. This for anyone like me that was wondering why he got zero PT (even though Serna is currently outplaying him).

Sounds like this past weekend was a good opportunity to take a break and get his head on straight.

I liked getting Serna all of the reps this weekend, regardless of the reasoning. Now we need Arrambide and Serna to be able to spell each other. My hope is that they used some of the extra time to work with Arrambide on receiving and blocking without having to worry about game planning, etc. Having Arrambide and Serna both going also gives more options against LHP.

So i guess jay lied last week when he said he wasnt hurt? K

He mentioned it in one of the post game press conferences why he left the game early. You would have to go back a few innings of that game to see what happened to his foot

I’m disappointed in both Arrambide and Serna, but we gotta roll with what we got.

I'm going to go out on a limb and guess he still will have trouble catching and blocking baseballs.

Both Arrambide and Serna were #1 catchers out of Texas. Both needs to improve their blocking as well as throwing runners out at second. Serna threw balls to SS side of second base.

I mean technically Jay said he wasn't unavailable because of an injury. Which is true. Sounds like he could have played in an emergency but they chose to rest him.

I’m really curious how Jay handles this. It’s hard to take Serna out of the lineup with how much better he’s hitting. I know we can move him to DH, but Braun also hit a lot better than Bide has been at DH last weekend.
If Bide doesn’t come back swinging the bat better immediately, he could be right back on the bench. Personally, I hope he breaks out of the slump and does well when he gets back in the lineup, but it’s something to watch.

Serna needs to learn how to catch the frickimg ball.

He does better than Bide. Bide looks sloppy behind the plate

Doghouse is possible, but got to believe he had some kind of injury.
JJ has always relied on 2 catchers, one primary and a second tto catch mid week games and typically game 2 of our SEC series. While I was looking for the flip to Serna as primary catcher, he would never be the exclusive catcher.

Keep Serna at catcher
For sure keep him in the batting order - whatever it takes

Tbh, my son calls me over the weekend during the Friday game and says he heard in BR that 3 players last week skipped practice, went to a bar that night, got caught being out and not sick and were benched for weekend. I immediately looked on the rant and nothing was said. I figured it was a rumor not fact. Wondered if there was anything to that. Glad to hear Abercrombie was "nicked" and not in any trouble. When he didnt play at all and no mention, I thought hmm.

Serna has better explosion on steals from behind the dish. Not bad for a freshman.

Let's pretend this is true. Who would the other 2 be? I can't think of anyone else getting at bats that didn't see the field in some capacity. Simpson even got a start this weekend who hadn't in a while. Ruckert maybe?
