I like Favreau, so I hope he knocks it out of the park. But I'm just not seeing much hype for this film. What are your predictions for it?

Probably not because of how The Mandalorian went out with a whimper and there has been so much time since, that I can't even remember how the story finished to lead into the movie – I'm sure a lot of people feel the same.

Also, the marketing around it has been kinda tame for Disney/Star Wars standards.

I think it’s likely to fail miserably. Maybe Disney can get kids excited about it, but that’d be the only chance it has in my opinion

Probably not financially. I think it will do what it needs to further the overall narrative Filoni is trying to tell to lead to his take on Heir to the Empire.

Disney just needs to put all the focus on promoting Gosling’s Starfighter movie next year. Fairly confident that one can be a success.

No for the above reason.

Disney must be very happy seeing Gosling's huge success with PHM. That movie should do well, If Levy delivers

Tough when one of your star characters can't speak, and the other one isn't supposed to say much of anything.

They know this movie is a turd. They’re already hyping Starfighter as the next big SW movie.

Season 3 ruined this show in a hurry. I just have no desire to see the movie.

I just don't see how they unfrick the story.

They destroyed any hope older fans of the originals had by doing the reboot with the sequel trilogy. The Mandalorian was cool as a contained story about a bounty hunter and an unlikely target. Making it bigger and important to the events of the galaxy as a whole seems forced and stupid. PLUS, everyone knows that they aren't going to delete the Sequels from existence, so we know that there is no happy ending for these characters. And if there is, it's because they say "Oh, well Grungelman and Blinkus were actually on a super secret mission somewhere else when the First Order attacked."

It's all just stupid and can't hold up to any narrative scrutiny.

AND, you top that off with Disney execs definitely having a hand in the making of the movie, or at least mandates that certain characters apprear, and you have the recipe for a season 3 style movie.

Basically, I'm saying don't be surprised if Lizzo and Jack Black appear in this movie.

AND, nobody watched Boba Fett or season 3 except the diehard fans (wo hated those shows) so it really feels more like an epilogue than a fresh new story.

See, I can't even unfrick my points about why it won't work. How is Disney gonna do that with an entire movie?

Is Grogu Yoda or just a character of the same race that is also a Jedi?

He's a character of the same race that is force sensitive, but never finished the formal Jedi training.

So he doesn't become Yoda?

I am not a star wars person, if you can't tell

He's younger than Yoda.

Yoda is a character's name, not a title.

But I know most of the confusion probably comes from the colloquial reference to him as Baby Yoda before his name was given on the show.
