Has Jay given any insight on Arrambide?

is he injured or is his lack of playing time related to performance or disciplinary reasons?

Haven’t heard anything, but I’m sure it’s because he’s been bad behind the plate and in the box, and his counter part has been quite good swinging the bat and, I won’t say great, but not any worse catching behind the plate

This is the tweet I was looking for. This seems odd. Especially considering that we saw Yamin catch Friday night and DH (very briefly) against Tech. If it isn't an injury, then something else seems to be going on.

Id bet something off the field/comraderie type issue. The way jay empatically said serna would be in the lineup everyday that early on, and in addition with yamin getting reps ahead of him

I would think it’s probably more than just playing bad. We see Jay giving many players playing bad extra opportunities. If I had to guess, it’s probably related to being a bad teammate or having a bad attitude, in addition to playing bad behind the plate and at the plate.

He’s been pretty terrible behind the plate. But no one has been great.

I really miss having a lockdown defensive catcher. Really feels like a catalyst for the rest of the defense, either good or bad.

Being bad at plate hasn't kept many people out of the lineup the last few weeks. Jay doesn't often let anyone catch 4 games in a row at this point in the season. Hernandez was a workhouse, and Arrambide was still starting games through the final SEC series last year to give Hernandez a break.

Arrambide may have gone 0-7 against Oklahoma, but he was 5-13 against Vandy. That doesn't warrant sitting out a whole SEC series.

Amazing what happens when live bullets start flying.

2 months ago, Jay was on radio saying Arrambidie is the best player in the program.

It’s more than that. Serna caught like 33 of the 35 innings we played last week. I don’t remember Jay ever doing something like that. The wear and tear is too much. And I mentioned 3 times yesterday, that I think it was affecting Serna’s offense. If Cade isn’t hurt, it has to be a disciplinary thing.

I won't speculate on disciplinary, though that could be factoring in.

I think there are competitive explanations for not playing him against Kentucky specifically.

But I agree that he needs to play enough to keep Serna fresh for his offense. And hopefully Arrambide himself can get his offense back on track. There also could have been an element of just needing to sit and watch and get his head back on right.

Based off of fall and spring scrimmage results he pretty much was that guy. Not sure what is going on but we will need them both to end the season successfully.

Article in the Advocate today about the series...

Arambidie "was not listed on LSU’s availability report heading into this weekend’s series or during it. Johnson also confirmed on Friday that he was healthy."

It would be helpful to have a top notch receiver back there. Arrambide is not one of those now. I certainly am not Jay, but that's my insight

Why would he not be available if he’s healthy? Could there be another reason other than off the field issues?

I didn’t look or notice at the game, did anyone see him in the dugout? Assuming he was, just curious.

No clue. I did find it strange that he never played...Serna has definitely been better offensively. Both have struggled defensively.

He’s not playing because he has regressed from last year. At this point he looks like one of the worst catchers to ever start a game at LSU. Hopefully he can get back to being the player he was but currently based off his play he doesn’t deserve to see much time. He was one of the high expectations coming into the season and turned into one of the many low lights of this season so far.

I would agree with this, Arrambide would of at least DH some this weekend, or put Serna back on first and DH Yorke. Seems go deeper than just production on the field
