Wut?

Are they implying people are having less kids just because of cars seats?

Having a third child would require selling the Altima and purchasing a 10 year old Escalade.

It means they're in a booster until they're tall enough to not have the shoulder belt sitting on their necks.

I know of people that limited to two because of seating arrangements. Wasn’t the ONLY reason but definitely a factor.

It's not as crazy as it sounds. Regular cars can't fit more than 2 big car seats at a time and even that takes up the whole backseat. Being forced to buy a much bigger vehicle is definitely a put off to have a big family. When I was a kid baby's sat in car seats but once you got to be about maybe 3-4 you were just buckled in per normal

Should have never gotten rid of the station wagon.

Affordable and spacious. Seats for everyone and trunk space for all their shite.

SUVs these days have less storage space than the trunk of a civic.

Family cars aren’t “cool”… I always loved my spacious as all get out mini van. Everybody else I knew was too cool for all that. Makes you wonder what’s influencing public opinion on these things.

In the '80s, the rear window was an additional seating option.

Varies by state.. and usually there's a combo of age / weight/ height.

In Tennessee an 8 year old less than 4'9" is legally required to be in a booster seat.
